Default Spray basting with fleece quandry...

I know, I know. Two dilemmas, one day...LOL
I have spray basted a baby quilt, and squared off for binding. The dilemma? I was going after light weight blanket, so I have my pieced top, afixed to fleece. No batting. But I'm not happy with result. Too bumpy, especially where embroidery work (on fleece) was done.
Not pleased with the result, I'd like to take apart and add a layer of batting. Cotton to cotton, I wouldn't give a second thought, of trying to pry apart. But fleece? YIKES.
Should I just cut my losses, bind, and learn a lesson. Or can I salvage this project and add a layer of batting?

I've pulled a cotton quilt top off of batting that was spray basted to it. The batting ended up a bit fuzzy, but it was still useable. Fleece is more tightly woven, not sure why you'd have a problem. That said, I always use 505, not sure how the other sprays are.

Is it just the spray basting that is holding the quilt together? If so I'd take it apart. If you get the quilt wet (don't wash it, just get it wet), the spray adhesive should give way as it is supposed to be a temporary hold. If, however, you have done some quilting already, that will have to be your call. It would all depend on how much quilting you've done.

Yank it apart and add the batting. You can do it - no problem.

YUP! Spot on Sandy, et tal! Not a problem. Just finished machine binding the sucker!
I did use Dritz Basting Spray. Had no problem, but where do I find the 505, that everyone speaks of?

I order my 505 online. This is the cheapest that I have found it.
