    Default Could someone Give Me The Name Of The Best Beginners Book

    Hi I am new at quilting and appliqué and would like to purchase a good book to help get me going.
    Could I have some suggestions please?

    The only thing I could recommend are Jenny's tutorials - that's a good start! I learned to sew by hand when I was a kid and how to sew in Jr.High
    so I guess I'm not much help to you!

    I agree with Kathy-I was going to suggest this forum (ask anything -I do) and Jenny's tutorials. In my opinion you would need a shelf of books to get you the information you can get in this one place I purchased quite a few beginners books but got much more info here and on Jenny's tutes.

    For a good all-purpose quilt book to start you out, look for "Quilts, Quilts, Quilts" by Diana McClun and Laura Nownes. It's a few years old so you should be able to get it for a good price on Amazon.

    Hi Wendy, Here is the name of a book I saw at our library. It had a lot of good info and pictures. Look it up on Amazon for reviews. It looked like a good one. You might check at the library if you have one close by...that way you could look through the books 1st before you decide to buy. I would check around on prices when you decide which book you want and try to get it on sale. Good Luck!
