Patrice, maybe I can answer that for you. Patrices longer strips were cut at 9". I would guess the blocks were 9" unfinished, making it a finished block at 8.5" once blocks are all sewn together. The picture looks like she had 6 blocks across and 6 down. This would give you a 51" square quilt (6 x 8.5"). If you added a few more rows to one end, it would be a great lap size quilt.

Oh Barb, you have such fantastic taste! I LOVE it. I had originally planned on trying to sell it, but I just couldn't let it go. It's on our couch now and is perfect for snuggling under, especially with little Evie.

I just found this image via a quick Google search: Looks pretty scrappy to me

Jenny has an awesome tutorial to make this too, she makes it look so easy:

She says at the beginning that she used a layer cake, but she shows you how to make it using a charm pack and a jelly roll
I LOVE this quilt!!! The contrasting lights and darks really add a lot to it. Gonna probably have to add this to my list of future quilts to make. My list is getting pretty long....

That is a stunning quilt!!! Just happen to have jelly rolls and charm packs coming in (and a Turnover hahha)

Would this be something a newbie could slowly quilt along and make? I am all over that tutorial and will book mark it to cut and sew along :-) What a surprise that would be for "doubting" husband!

    Thanks for sharing
