    Re: How did that happen??????

    Ceased to function

Was really upset and disappointed yesterday when the $500.00 Singer sewing machine I bought last year ceased to function in the middle of whipping up a quilt for my grandson. I almost forgot I...

    Re: Fudge it

Yes, and I am finding that many of my sewing imperfections will not be noticeable when the quilt is finished. Many new quilters think it has to be perfect. They become discouraged when they feel its...

    Re: Updates......

I have only been making quilts for about 9 months. I tend to be very frugal. I made a mistake cutting the flag fabric on the Cascade quilt. Since it is the same fabric, I use the miss cut pieces on...

    Re: 14 blocks, part 3

You need a friend who goes to auctions. My friend wanted some linens that were in a box. She got the box for $10.00. She only wanted the linens. There were 2 quilts at the bottom of the box. She gave...

    14 blocks, part 3

I am a first born, perfectionist, controlling type by nature. The back, using the remaining 5 blocks, is sewn with the "cut your coat to fit your cloth/make it do/use it up" theory of quilting. I...

    Re: Oliso

I bought an Oliso....I like it.....I agree the steam output could be better. The best iron I had was a Shark. It was only $59 at Wal-Mart. Lots of steam.

Thank you. I wish I could buy more of the blue floral fabric. It has the perfect combination of color shades and compliments a variety of colors.....and it makes me smile inside!
