    I use a fan. I'm hot natured so it does double duty. The noise it creates covers up a lot of annoying sounds.

    Try using a Wave Edge ruler.

    There are so many colors in that fabric that you have a lot to choose from.

    But, I have never heard of a rag quilt having binding. Why not rag the edges? That's what I did for a rag quilt.

    For me, it depends on the fabric. If the seams won't lie flat, I starch. If the wrinkles or creases won't come out, I starch.
