    Re: Simple Tortilla Cozy Tutorial

If you put a paper towel in with the tortillas, it will adsorb the moisture. I do this whenever I get something to go and it's in a Styrofoam container - put a napkin inside with the food and it...

    Re: Bowl Cozies

two layers of all cotton batting for me. I can feel the heat otherwise. Plus I like the way they hold their shape better.
  3. Re: Is there ONE interfacing to use for tshirt quilts?

I used a french fuse interfacing. It's really soft and drapy and doesn't add much more weight to the quilt. Tshirt quilts get VERY heavy.

    Tranquility

A friend and I saw this quilt at a LQS and fell in love with the colors. It's a BOM called Tranquility by Wing and a Prayer Designs. I don't normally like BOMs but we wanted this one. But it was...

    Re: Fabric with words

I made an Xs and Os quilt with fabric with text on it. In the blocks I made sure to mix it up, but when I put on the border, I placed it so that it could be read from the outside. (Imagine the...

  7. Anyone have Square-in-a-Square Reference books?

This Square-in-a-Square is a system that Jodi Barrows developed. I have the ruler and one of her books but I want to see what patterns are in the other books. I've looked online and I can't find a...

Re: Snippet's map of where we all are.

Yes it has been frozen because they have limited their free plan to 100 views for the lifetime of the account, which is silly. The paid version is $10/month, but I won't be buying it. Sorry y'all....
  9. Re: What do you take to Quilt Retreats/Classes? How do you pack it all in?

I bought a Featherweight for retreats and classes. It is small, and sews a great stitch. I can put it in a rolling trolley and have plenty of space for my notions and fabrics.

    Re: Who Went?

I had heard it wasn't as exciting as previous years either. Did anyone see Al and his wife and baby?
  11. Re: What do you take to Quilt Retreats/Classes? How do you pack it all in?

I have duplicates of many notions. I made a Bionic Gear Bag to hold what I need for trips. It's got a rotary cutter (with extra blades), small scissors, tweezers, seam ripper, tan thread, wonder...

Re: word/directional fabric as a border

I made a quilt with a word border and had this same dilemma. In the end, I decided to have the words facing out. If you use the quilt for a bed, the border hangs down, and I wanted the words to be...

I had made that decision once long ago. We had everything bought and paid for; all the invitations printed and addressed, just waiting for the time to mail them. I don't know why but I decided it...

Thanks Marilyn. I decided to unplug and be off grid for a while. I was getting overwhelmed and needed to break away and regain some sort of perspective. I thought it would help my depression as I...

hehe I don't think they use an iron. The material they use is mostly ripstop and that would melt under an iron. One guy had troubles with his thread while sewing on some thin mesh and asked for...

    What men sew

Lately I've gotten an interest in hammock camping. I just love laying in a hammock and lazing about. There is a forum of hammock enthusiasts that has a ton of information about using them, buying...
