Re: Laura Heine Collage Quilt Question

Steam or dry iron, repeat which ever method you used originally to attach the adhesive. Just don't go longer than 8 seconds. You are just temporarily softening up the adhesive.

    Re: Singer Walking Foot Problem

It sounds like you have already tried the most probable solution of lowering the presser foot tension and lengthening the stitches. What basting method did you use? If pin basted, maybe pin closer...

Re: Laura Heine Collage Quilt Question

For 50 wt thread if I was using my walking foot I would use an 80/12 sharp or top stitch needle. If you are FMQ I would use a 90/14 with a top stitch (not a sharp or a universal) needle. If you are...

    Re: Quilting and home decor

It totally depends on which heat and bond you used. If you used Heat and Bond lite you really do need to sew it down. If you used heat and bond regular you don't have to sew it down, but you can if...

    Re: Never say never

We all mistakes. Your true character will show through in how you recover from this mistake. You can do it. Believe in yourself, apologize, try to make recovery to the wronged party, and move forward.
  9. Re: Help, please?? Used bad adhesive; ruined precious quilt!

I'm so so sorry. I can see all the love you put into this quilt. I hope some one with experience in this area can offer some advice.

Does your sewing machine have an adjustable pressure setting? The pressure setting is not the same as the tension setting. Not every machine has this feature. Check your manual. If so, you need to...

  17. Re: How do you presssesms openwithout burning your fingers?

I use the strip stick. Once you open one edge with your fingers the strip stick encourages the rest of the seam to fall open naturally so you don't have to run your finger along the whole seam. Most...

When I am using my usual 80/20 batting I cut my binding 2.25" wide. In the very unusual cases where I am using a double layer of batting I cut my binding 2.5" wide.
