Re: Good use of donated fabrics

The group I am with does not allow words, animals, etc. Patterns and solid colors are good.

Re: Good use of donated fabrics

I also belong to a group who makes these. We do just the pads and liners, another group does the bags (I'd rather be in that group!!)

I'm not certain how many were made since by friend and I...

Re: Did your doorbell ring today?

The junior high school I went to held a big May Day celebration every year. Four times a year in PE class, they would have posture competitions. Your PE uniform had to be clean and crisp and we...
  8. Re: Update on stationarymom (Joan) --2019 update, read 2nd page comments

This is such very sad news. I thought of her often. She at one point ordered a bag from me for her daughter and we joked back and forth about that as it was for the Patriots.

Re: Did your doorbell ring today?

I think of that every May 1!!! I loved to do that when I was little.

In Hawaii, May 1 is Lei Day. That is how I always refer to it now. Here is a picture I took on a trip to Hawaii...…

    Re: Air Fryer

I have TWO!!! One is a six quart and the other is a three quart. Often, I use both at the same time. Don't know what I did without them.!!
  11. Re: Metal Quilt Sculpture in lobby at UVM Medical center

Dolores and I saw a wood one on our trip last fall. It was fantastic! I can't remember the artists name, but I had been looking at his page for a long time, then saw that one in person! He does...

  17. Re: hello, newbie, looking for quilting machine purchase help

Yes, I agree with you on the expense of extra bits and pieces!! I got several with the machine, and I have bought a quarter inch foot which I paid for with a gift card I got for Christmas. At Sew...
  18. Re: hello, newbie, looking for quilting machine purchase help

Oh, I don't know if I can agree with this. I've sewn on Janomes and was not that impressed. This Bernina I recently got is pretty slick. Sure, I bought it used at a steal, but I love it.

    It...
  19. Re: hello, newbie, looking for quilting machine purchase help

I own a variety of machines, and my favorite for piecing is the Juki TL2010. It is a very solid, straight stitch only machine. It's also great for fmqing. You can find them for just under $1000.

Re: How Would You Fix This?

I sewed a four patch wrong in the middle of a quilt. I picked out that four patch and put it back in the right way. It would have made me crazy!

    Re: Monday Trivia: Oregon

You are now allowed to pump your own gas in Oregon, but only at certain stations and only during daylight hours I think. We have not been down there since the law changed.

Re: Nautical alphabet double sided napkins

Yes, each one is a letter. You can message back and forth to other boats if you don't have a radio to do so.
