  1. Re: Make a "Road Trip" Map Applique Quilt with Jenny Doan

True, I appreciate the tutorials, even if I know it's unlikely I will ever make the quilt. We won't all like the same things.
  2. Re: Make a "Road Trip" Map Applique Quilt with Jenny Doan

I like this one, but it's not going to the top of "the never ending list". I was thinking it would be cool to get a fabric that represented each state you wanted to feature. For instance I have a...

Beautiful, Myrna, but now the tears are really flowing.

Having to make that decision three times last year - April, August and December, I sure know how you feel.

    Re: 1930s or 40s ?

I see fabrics from both! I am guessing it was probably made in the 40's with fabrics from both decades. What a treasure!

Re: Pebbles or straight lines ?

Looking forward to seeing your completed design. My first instinct was the straight lines to contrast with the curvy lines on both sides, but seems like I am in the minority on that one.:)

  15. Re: Make a "Vintage Blossom" Quilt with Jenny Doan

I agree about using the same fabric/color for the centers. I always like the red prints in the 30's prints to be the accent, so I would probably try to do all the centers in red.

I'm probably in the minority on this one, but I am a bit OCD on seams matching and will keep working at it until it is at least "better". I usually find if seams are matching and then suddenly don't,...
