    Re: WIP June 14-20, 2019

I have three quilts that I am currently working on, one that is getting its binding sewn down gradually and another almost done with the quilting.
One is just sandwiched and waiting its turn to be...

    Re: wash before binding?

The pattern was torn from an old magazine Quiltmaker Spring/Summer 2008, I have no idea where I got it.
I did decide to use 2 1/2" hst instead of the 2" ones the pattern calls for and used...

Thanks so much, I am still struggling with my fmq but this turned out pretty well.
I got one side of the binding sewn to the back last night, the other three sides will be done one night at a...

    Re: wash before binding?

Thanks folks, I have already cut, pieced and pressed the binding. It is ready to go on so I guess it will:( but without any ironing involved.
I had not thought about them perhaps shrinking at a...

    wash before binding?

I have been working on fmq a quilt and have marked it with the blue pounce pad. Most of it has brushed off but there is still some remaining.
I have serged the outside edges and want to wash it...
  6. Re: Top thread breaks when free motion quilting

Try to reduce your top tension and use a bigger needle [16 or 18]. You might need to slow down as you head west/north/west and you may need to speed up around curves.

    Re: Wednesday hellos!

We have a gorgeous day here, sunshine and not too hot yet. I plan on cutting back my knock out roses since they have bloomed their little hearts out and need a haircut. Then I hope to get back into...

    Re: fabric dye

I agree about using a permanent fabric marker so you can zero in on the area and not affect the fabric surrounding it.

She really wants to sell her patterns therefore she doesn't explain quite as well as Jenny.

    Re: Happy sunshine Thursday

Some of you have sunshine while we have much needed rain. It has been a nice gentle soaking rain, what a blessing.
Today we go to exercise but first we take the dog to the vet for a bath and...
  11. Re: FREE Pattern! Easy Pieced Table Runner Series - July

That barn is darling but a whole lot of work. It would be a cute placemat or centerpiece for the round table.

    Re: WiP May 31 - June 6, 2019

Aaarrrggg, I ran out of the thread I was using to quilt my 30's project. I have ordered some and it will be here eventually. In the mean time I will read a book.:D
I do have another sandwich to...
  13. Re: Almost finished Double batting test quilt

That is absolutely beautiful. I think a wall hanging if you are not happy with how the back looks.
  14. Re: Make a "Night Sky" Quilt with Jenny Doan

There is a PDF but it really doesn't give instructions, just a picture and list of materials.
If you are experienced it is possible to just make hst then lay them out like the picture.

Re: What's on your Memorial Day menu?

Going next door for a neighborhood party later, I am taking baked beans made with hamburger and lots of burned bacon [with the grease] and a peanut butter pie.

    Re: Needled or not

I used W&N for a while but have switched to Hobbs 80/20. It has to be quilted closer together but seems a little thicker to me which I like.
A friend mentioned they like the new Warm and fluffy [I...

    Re: WiP May 24 - 30, 2019

Cream it is and I think I found a perfect aqua in my stash for the cornerstones. I think I will go with a consistant color since everything else is pretty mixed up.
I am going on a mini shop hop...

    Re: CURVACEOUS!!!

Cute quilt in even cuter fabric.
I am pretty sure I wouldn't let the quilting turn up the edges but working with fmq that would be fairly easy to avoid.
    Thanks for posting the link.

  23. Re: No-Waste Flying Geese Quilt with FREE Pattern from Angela Walters

    Thanks for the link.
I was glad to see her using some print fabrics, not sure I love the ones she used but love me some prints instead of all solids.
