    Re: A couple of Tops...

I tend to spend my summer doing tops, then hand quilt in the winter when it cooler. Love the log cabin.

Not the least bit tempting to me.

Re: Friday Trivia: Apollo 11 🚀

In 1965 through 1968 I helped build some of the modules that went into the next Apollo rockets. It was Collins Radio back then, now Rockwell International.

Re: My summer has screeched to a halt

I don't remember the last time I wore a bra when I wasn't in the public eye and couldn't wear layers. Benefits to living in the boonies.

    Re: Shipping Times

You should shop a few more.
  6. Re: Beta testers needed for new MSQC Shipping program

I would use the reserve idea, since I never need much at at a time. Did you know that once yu drop off at the shipper, it often sits there as long as 3 days before it moves?

    Re: "Opinion" top finished

Not worried at all. I never had one bleed since I wash in cold water. Then there's knowing all those reds are remnants from previous quilts that didn't bleed

    "Opinion" top finished

Thanks for the input. My brother says it looks like ribbon candy. I lean more toward Test Pattern

  9. Re: Beta testers needed for new MSQC Shipping program

But those of us posting don't WANT the machine quilting, so that won't wash.

Re: Saw This and Thought Maybe...

    Look at drafting desks
  11. Re: Beta testers needed for new MSQC Shipping program

Yep. I hand quilt mine. Besides, I have about an average of $40 discretionary money a month, so It would NOT be at all cost effective. I like to spend some of that on a few used books, and maybe new...
  12. Re: Beta testers needed for new MSQC Shipping program

I don't even do it for Amazon, not doing it here either. WAY too much money.

    Re: Baby quilt is finished

    I like the colors.
  14. Re: Programs for those in need... not me. well, maybe not.

Actually I have always felt the parents should be made responsible for their mess, NOT the taxpayers. Jail a few parents, and maybe some would start to BE parents again.
  15. Re: Programs for those in need... not me. well, maybe not.

I do my best to avoid such shows. I can see plenty of that just watching some of my neighbors.

    Re: Shipping Times

I don't generally buy precuts and the yardage is the same or a bit lower. Yes, I'm smart enough to do my homework.

    Re: Shipping Times

Can't understand why they expect us to pay MORE for decent shipping when we can shop elsewhere and get that decent shipping for less.

    Re: Shipping Times

Fedex Smartpost is what happened. There really isn't a WORSE shipping service in the country. I'm just across the state line from *M and it takes more than a week, sometimes more than 2, for it to...
  19. Re: Programs for those in need... not me. well, maybe not.

That sounds more like bad choices than lack of opportunity. I grew up a poor kid in a single parent home. You absolutely CAN work your way up out of it.
  20. Re: Programs for those in need... not me. well, maybe not.

I never could understand why so many have kids they can't afford. Its not like we NEED to add to the population.

Thanks. I don't really do very many scrappy quilts, and always second guess myself when I do.
