    Re: Selling question

Whoohoo! I just ordered a Janome HD9 last Friday, could be in today! Very excited! My Singer S16 will be rehomed to Atlanta to live with my daughter who loves making bags. Her picky Bernina won't...

Re: Anyone buy fabric from Amazon?

Amazon is somehow connected with Fabric.com. At least Fabric.com takes Amazon credit cards and uses their member info. Doesn't Amazon know everything about everybody these days?

    Re: Charms on point expanded

Doing it Jenny's way will always yield a square, even adding blocks as Katrina said. I would say the only option would be to build a square the size you want the length to be and trim down the side...

    Re: Dawn Awakens Bargello

    Wow! That is just gorgeous!
  9. Re: Janome 6650 Craft Computerized Machine

Wow! That is incredible! My Janome dealer ( for 25 years!) retired a couple of years ago and I can't find another one with his stock of machines. I bought a Janome 1600 clone (Singer S16) 4 years...
  10. Re: Janome 6650 Craft Computerized Machine

Wow! I'm not a Costco member, but my curiosity is raised on this! Might just investigate that option just for the sewing machine! I had a 6600 years ago, it was a very good machine, and I'd go...
  11. Re: Quick and easy layer cake pattern

An older tutorial that I have used is called the Tea Cup Quilt. It is easy to cut and sew and has a modern look. Almost as easy as the double slice. Shows off fabrics well.

    Re: Happy Monday!

It's pouring here as it has been for hours! So dark out, it doesn't even look like morning. Direct TV out with heavy cloud cover, and the sump pump is working overtime! Thank heaven it is working! ...

    Re: Any Night Owls around?

Yep! I have a machine next to my bed with simple projects cut out for middle of the night insomnia sewing. Working on my Escape from Candyland quilt. Improvised the sashing of the open block, then...
  14. Re: Gammill Quilting With Confidence Tour

Just checked the schedule, the closest is Des Moines on Aug. 19-20. I will be in Des Moines til the 18 with my grandkids from NY! They don't leave me til Aug. 21! So this date doesn't work for me...

    Re: machine embroidery on quilt

We have several in the group who do a lot of embroidery on quilts that are finished. I've embroidered blocks before putting them together in a quilt, but not after the quilt has been sandwiched....
  17. Re: Has anyone signed up for any of the MSQC BOM programs?

I totally agree with you! I like to do things on my own time, and I have a short attention span ( as witnessed by about a dozen sets of blocks I found in my stash this summer!). I couldn't sustain...

    Re: First Time Cutting Backing

If it is monstrously extra wide, I do trim my wide backing. When I am using wide backing on a lap quilt, I cut off extra width, leaving at least 4" on all sides. The length doesn't need to be...

    Re: Looking for a tutorital

YES! That was it! I put together some 9 patches, but they ended up too big for what I wanted, thought this might work. I couldn't remember where the strips/sashing went. Too late for my blocks,...

    Looking for a tutorital

I am almost positive Jenny did a tutorial several years ago that was a disappearing 9 patch with a narrow strip between the blocks. I've looked and looked and can't find what I think I saw here....

    Re: Wasabe!

Jenny's tutorial today is made with the same basic block, just more scrappy and set square, not on point. Very versatile block! Also makes Jacob's ladder! Your quilt is very interesting with the...

    Re: That OOPS Feeling!

I think it looks great! I made the Night Sky quilt, and it was easy to confuse placement of those connecting rows between the blocks. It looks like yours doesn't have the connecting rows. But no...
