Re: Finally! A finish on my new Juki 2200

I made that same quilt, but for TCU. Used my embroidery machine to quilt.

Re: Pantone color of the year 2017

I guess I'm ignorant - I don't have a clue what you all are talking about. But I hate fads and I don't let others tell me what colors to use in sewing, clothing, decorating, etc. I have my own...

    Re: Singer Featherweight -seeking info

Get the serial number and go to the Singer website. It will tell you the year it was made.

    Re: Day 1 houston

Leather quilts are tooled, dyed, stitched on a large piece of leather. Here's one:

    Re: Day 1 houston

We went Thursday and Friday and came home yesterday. Letting the joints and muscles recover today from all the walking. We had a great time. I was good - bought a few things, but mostly spent...

Re: Glow in the dark thread shreading

I haven't used that type of thread, but I bought one of these for tricky threads. Keeps thread from twisting, catching, or otherwise being troublesome. It might help.

    Re: houston show

Look at the floor plan online and get an idea of where the vendors/quilts are generally located. When you get there, go to the Handi Quilter booth first - they give away nice sized, colorful shopping...

    Re: I'm a bad girl....

I use my cutting table, 24" ruler, and rotary cutter for cutting wrapping paper for Christmas presents. Makes wrapping go so much faster and hasn't ruined a blade yet!

    Re: Baby Lock Saprano

I have a BL Ellure and Ellisimo. Love them and would never switch.
  12. Re: not upset. not annoyed but shaking my head

I use my Smartphone sparingly. But I like the Memo app. For example, I keep a list of all my rulers on it, so if I come across a sale at a shop, I know which ones I already have. Like a memory aid!

    Re: Never again

I work at my LQS part-time and we constantly get comments on how pleased the customers are with the reception they get and how friendly and helpful we all are. Some drive from some distance away,...

Re: 2 best things-- so far

I use the plastic core from a wide gift-wrapping ribbon to roll up my binding. Then I use a lanyard with a clip closure to hold it around my neck. That way, if the phone rings, etc., I can quickly...

    Re: Border order

The strips are 4.5in wide. They have a fir tree branch pattern, so a seam could be disruptive to the eye.
    I'm probably over-thinking this.

    Border order

I'm to the point of putting the borders on a baby quilt and have a question. The pattern says to put the side borders on first. I have to piece two strips together for the borders to fit. Then put...

Just added myself. Dhubert, you're right down the road! I work part time at B&B in Buda, so we've probably met. And if you've not been to B&B, you should come. It's a great quilt shop.

    Re: Quick question

I use my rotary cutter with a used blade when I wrap presents. So much easier to cut wrapping paper with a rotary cutter and 24" ruler!

    Re: The Binding Thingy

Wow, that's a lot of extra steps. I've always used the French fold, or double fold method. Much easier.
Here's Nancy's video. The actual corner treatment starts around the 3:40 mark.
