    I would choose one of the most time easy patterns using pre-cut fabric, estimate how long it will take and charge an hourly rate plus the fabric, thread, needles etc. then add the batting and backing...

    I think it would be incredibly elegant to make a quilt from the fabric of dress but use lots of different blocks, a block of the month style pattern, and then use the quilting to emphasis the pattern...
