    Re: Update On Dottie

My prayers are with you and Dottie. It's so difficult when they reach these later years. Carlie is going into her 15th year, she sleeps a lot now and yet occasionally has "puppy" days, also...

Re: I hate my machine, what do you have?

GuitarGramma, how did your SE400 hold up? At about the 3 year mark mine stopped sewing although I can still use it for embroidery. I think I got mine just maybe a little before you got yours. It...
  4. Re: Sending Out a Quilt Top to be Finished or DIY?

When I start a hobby that I know will stick I tend to go overboard. I knew that there was no way I could afford having a shop quilt all the pieces I'd probably do. I tried FMQ and hated it. I...

    Re: Melatonin?

I hadn't heard the essential oils could cause nosebleeds??? I had a terrible case of nosebleeds last March afterward I started using a vaporizer with no scents added. I had never used essential oils...

    Re: Melatonin?

I've taken melatonin for years when I go through periods I can't sleep. Originally I had vivid dreams, but then I always did, but no nightmares. Like said above, start out with the smallest dose...

    Re: What is taboo

I've used both together and really liked it. Just don't use metallics for things that go into the microwave like potato zappers or microwave bowls.

    Re: Strings?!@

I believe this was the technique Sitar used in much of her Trail Mix quilt pattern. I had sewn together many many strips of 1 1/4" fabrics. I believe most were sewn with about 8 to 10 fabric strips...

    Re: Fabric Swaps

"I see that there are a bunch swap groups, but only 3 active ones, with all of them closed until the end of the year. Is that because many are working hard on holiday projects, and it's harder to get...
  11. Re: What size do the pics need to be to post on this forum?

I'm pretty sure most places I upload to (and here) I set the resolution at 300 and the size at say 300x400 depending on the picture. I use Paint Shop Pro to adjust my pictures.

    Re: Need a sewing machine

If the embroidery isn't working properly either are you looking to get a combo embroidery/sewing?

For about $400 (i got it cheaper on sale a few years ago), the Brother SE400 was a work horse. It...

LOL it's probably the only time at age 71 that something will work better then it did at 20 :-) Now that is some feat!

    Re: Cataract Surgery went well

Bubba I have to admit that I felt safer having them done separately. I didn't want to not be able to see out of at least one eye during the healing process. Also I kept thinking well if something...

    Re: Cataract Surgery went well

Karen, really, don't be afraid. You don't feel anything. You're numb, what little vision you have during it you really can't see what's happening. Just a few lights and black dot blobs. They just...

    Cataract Surgery went well

It all went well and I wasn't nervous.

I have to say I'm amazed!! Even though my vision is still a little blurry because of the eye drops I'm so excited. The dr didn't think he would be able to...

    Re: Question about craft fairs

FWIW, I just do the two very local fairs. It's a learning process and frankly you cannot always tell what people are interested in from one year to the next. The first fair I paid for one booth...

    Re: Question about craft fairs

I wouldn't pay a website for a list of craft fairs. Well unless maybe if they were craft fairs that wholesalers go to but that's not something I'd want to get into anyway. Check your local State...
