    Re: Half way to Christmas

It's beautiful. Love that fabric line. I know what you mean about being hard to give it away. If you remember, that's the same fabric line I used for my niece's quilt. It was hard to give it away.

So glad you had some good news to offset the bad. It is tough to know you have a parent that must go through this. Praying that he does not have too much pain. Congrats to your parents on the long...

Awesome and what a good bonding moment. He (and you) will remember those shorts for a long time.
  8. Re: FMQ or straight line for Friendship Braid throw?

Nice quilt. I really like your colors. I think your meander or swirls would look good through the braid and if you want something a little different, straightish (probably not a word, but you get my...

    Re: my first commision

Sometimes the points where 4 squares meet gets a bit bulky. I like that it just allows the foot to glide better instead of getting hung up on a bulky spot. My logic, don't know if it really makes a...

    Re: I'm stoked!!!!

That's great news. Instead of just changing the dog's name, try walking one mile for a few days, and then add another for a week or two, until you get to 5. You may surprise yourself. Try searching...

    Re: my first commision

You could use a large meandering, geometric squares/rectangles or simple loops. I have done many with pantos, but the last one I did was just simple loops so that I could avoid where all the squares...

Re: Does a binding need to be bias?

You should definitely use bias binding when your quilt has edges that are not straight, such as curves or scallops. If I am binding a quilt that is square or rectangle, I cut WOF strips and sew them...
