Re: Press and seal for quilting

I, too, have used Press and Seal in quilting. I have cut out designs and stitched around the edges to add fancier quilting designs. I have also stitched over it. It mostly tears, but I did have to...

Re: EPP - I'm getting ahead of myself, but....

Interesting.......I thought these were more of a coverlet and were not quilted. Shows how little I know about it!

Re: Knee lift - anyone use it?

Yes!! I love mine on my Janome. It took a little time to get use to it, but I miss it dearly, if I have to use my machine not in the cabinet. My hubby had to fit my cabinet to work, but it was so...

Re: Good morning from the Emerald Isle!

    Jean
I recently spent two weeks in Italy and the jet lag was horrible for almost a week after. It seemed to take forever to return to my normal schedule. I hope you can recover quicker!

    Re: Flower Power stash buster

Don’t you love it when you find what you need on hand!
  8. Re: Yet another Flower Power stash buster, done and dusted!

If you run out of UFOs I could send you more to finish!
  9. Re: Yet another Flower Power stash buster, done and dusted!

Someone will absolutely love it. Not my colors, but it is cheerful and bright. It will still warm a baby!

Re: Looking for a new sewing lamp

If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, check out their prices on Ott lights. Cheapest I have ever seen anywhere!

    Re: Labyrinth Quilt

So worth it! My youngest son was always a maze kid. He would adore this quilt!
  12. Re: I may be in over my head on this next one......

Well, some people like weighted blankets. I have a large double knit one from back in the day. My great aunt pieced it of scraps and my mom machine quilted it. It is heavy and probably will never...

    Re: Innova vs Handiquilter?

I have an Innova. The dealer is within an hour of my home. I like the idea that any Innova can be updated with all new technologies that they come out with later, so it can be constantly updated and...

    Re: curious

I do not finger press. I feel it stretches the seams. I press with steam, gently, on a wool mat. I think perfectly flat seams make a lot of difference in the final project.

    I use purchased Best...

This is the one issue that really worries us about retirement! You have to have it, but can you afford it for as long as you might need it? Preparing for full retirement is scary!

    Re: Iron recommendation

Reliable makes an awesome iron. I use distilled water in mine and it has last for close to 10 years. The steam output can’t be beat! Highly recommend!

I am one of those women that Jean mentioned. I proudly showed off a box of tiny blocks, promptly brought them home, and stashed them on a shelf. I was energetically making two of each block, one in...

Re: So, how do you decide on a FMQ design?

Yes....you are not alone! I can get paralyzed at this stage! It helps me to have a large piece of plexiglass that I can lay over the quilt top and use water markers to audition a variety of designs....

Re: Do you have solar panels on your home?

We have a full solar array, but not on our roof. We have a structure on the ground and because we own a farm, it is not in our yard. The company we used is Ampray, which I believe is a small family...
