    Re: Quilting Forums

Yes, it's absolutely horrible. Proves the old adage, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

This MQ forum is very good but I'm finding it a lot quieter than it used to be. I only visit every few days...

Re: New Juki tl2010q user needs help

I rarely have a problem with it. I release the lever slowly making sure the thread is securely pulled to the right in the plastic slot at the bottom.

Re: tangled bobbin thread at start of seam

I never use the thread cutter on my machines and always pull the top and bottom threads to the back when I start sewing or use a leader and ender.

    Re: Jennys new Iron

I have 4 Olisos and they were bought at various sales for around AU$100 each a couple of years ago. No way would I pay the current Australian RRP 0f $264 and that's for the standard yellow model. ...

    Re: Oil for Juki 2010q

My Juki dealer in Australia told me to stick with good old-fashioned Singer sewing machine oil.

    Re: Rotating Cutting Mats?

I have three rotating mats - different sizes, some round and some rectangular - and couldn't imagine not having them these days.

Re: Craftsy classes converting to Bluprint

I have 60+ paid-for classes. I understand I will still have access to them after 1/8, however, I won't be buying any more as I no have faith in the company nor am I confident about the survival...

Re: Such an Easy Jelly Roll Rug!

Nothing I do will make mine lay flat. Very disappointed especially after all the time it took (and the possible wear and tear on my machine). Definitely wouldn't bother again.

    The pattern would...

    Re: Ruler storage

I use two bread slicing guides. They are perfect because of the snug fit and the number of rulers they hold.

    Re: Featherweight question

I agree with you going on the pic. Also the needle hole can add to the impression of bad tension when you've got two different colour threads.

Re: Oliso Auto Lift Pro Zone Iron

    Re: Rotary blade sharpener

Yes, that's the one I bought but have never used.
  15. Re: What have you purchased that you never use or would never buy again?

I wish I hadn't bought one of these and a few dies. They will turn out to be a fad item for most purchasers, I think. The waste of fabric makes me feel guilty as does the fact my partner bought the...
  16. Re: What have you purchased that you never use or would never buy again?

These are a big con. I bought two after seeing it on an MSQ video. The thing is only a very limited type of needles can be threaded using them.
  17. Re: What have you purchased that you never use or would never buy again?

The Stripology ruler is the best gadget money I've spent. And although very expensive, I love my Kai scissors.

Couldn't agree more. I really fell for that one!

    Re: Straight Stitches with QAYG

No you don't use a walking foot with it ... the IDT is the equivalent (better!) than a walking foot. It can be moved out the way if you don't want to use it.

Re: Striptology Ruler, by Creative Grids

Here in Australia they're $85 plus postage (there's only one store selling them at this time) so all up nearly a $100. Not a cheap investment.

    Re: Cutting Strips

I'm not supposed to know it but there's one of those under the Christmas tree for me. Come on Christmas Day ... I think I'll be cutting fabric instead of making Christmas lunch for the family! :)
