Could you please post a picture. The truth is it really depends on each quilt individually, so a picture will get you the best input.

And hi and welcome to the forum.

Re: Hanging quilts on the wall

Your quilt, your rules. Make your border width anything you want. I don't follow any set formula. I make them so they look right to me. What looks right with one design, likes different with a...

I have rarely encountered the quilting negativity that he has seen. It makes me sad. I want to support what he says about taking a stand by shaming people who act without love. I would like your...

Re: Cutting my table for a drop in machine.

I too used a jigsaw to make my own drop in for my sewing machine. I like my machine as far forward and as much right on the table as possible (leave as much space open on the left as possible). I...

    Re: Sewing room??

When I got a dedicated sewing room the first thing I added was a sturdy cutting table that I could access from three sides set at the correct height. I used bed risers under the table legs to get it...

    Re: WIP - Sept 13-19, 2019

Finally got over this miserable cold that lasted nine days. Now it is the height of ragweed season. Give me a break, please. Anyway I made some progress on the Butterfly Haven quilt pattern. I...

    Re: Using different color threads

I LOVE:icon_hug: variegated thread. When I use variegated thread I use the variegated thread only in the top and a thinner thread as close to the middle shade of the variegated thread in the bobbin.

Yes you can. Please be aware that no matter how carefully you set the tension occasionally the bottom thread will poke up to the top. Only you will notice. No one else will see the pop ups. Honest....

    Re: Midnight quilt show

I agree, a sad day. Since Bluprint took over Craftsy they are obviously focusing on entertainment, rather than education. They have only produced two new quilting classes in the past year.

  21. Re: Large Applique? Fuze your pieces right on your design wall

Normally when you do a applique you use a light table to shine through the pattern and fuze the pieces in place. Light tables aren't very big so you have to keep moving the pattern around to do each...
  22. Large Applique? Fuze your pieces right on your design wall

Here is a really clever idea I haven't seen before. If you have a design wall that can take the heat (like foam board) use a light colored background fabric you can see through, and fuze your...

    Re: Layer cakes
