    Re: WiP Oct 11 - 17, 2019

It seems that I have been skipping my duties and chores by escaping to my sewing room. Sunday I was down there a good 3+ hrs, and sewed all the blocks, finished quilt of dissappearing 9 patch. I...

Re: Did you all see this?

That is cool. Saw it posted, didn't realize that she was Jan from Brady Bunch.
  3. Re: Maureen McCormick Visits Missouri Star Quilt Co.

Oh my. I would never have recognized her. I always thought she would grow to be tall. Still very pretty.

    Re: Score...Again

Wow, don't you just love it when that happens. What can you buy for $10 nowadays? Well a microwave cosy, that's my new price.
  5. Re: Maureen McCormick Visits Missouri Star Quilt Co.

Nice video, but forgive me, but who is she?
  6. Re: National Park Block Borders or Just Sashing

Great job of the blocks. Since you say they are not all same size, you might want to offset a sashing or block to make them uniform in size. I would add a border around the quilt to frame it.

    Re: Hello Wednesday!

    Good morning,
Yup it's going to be soggy, and more leaves will be coming down. I filled bags of leaves last week - doesn't show. Thankfully it's mostly in the back yard. Front yard has all...

    Re: Question for longarmers

I have machine basted extra widths of non-backing fabric to the sides of backs, when I had enough backing material, but not enough for LA. It works ok and they center it when loading. Also by using a...

Rhonda, I'm so sorry that you are going through Cancer and a bad experience with a crappy doctor. He needs to get some re-training on empathy and bedside manner. Clearly he has become complacent. ...

Re: Euclid Avenue in cool colors

Brilliant! Great use of freezer paper, and wise to chose time to copy the pattern instead of picking paper afterwards.

Your quilt is beautiful, colours are strikingly very effective. Can't wait...
  11. Re: Getting the hang of ruler work

It does take ,ore time to quilt with rulers, but the more you use them, you will get faster. The results are much better. There is still opportunity to is in some FMQ to break the monotony.

    Your...

Whoa, I must produce a lot of melatonin, I dream like crazy every night. The dreams are what wakes me up. I usually don't have trouble falling asleep, but weird dreams keep me up. Years ago a...

    Re: What is taboo

Welcome from Ottawa. You can certainly mix cotobns with metallic cottons in a quilt. No rules. If you are talking about the thin shiny metallic polyester used for costumes, I would say no, as these...

    Re: Crazy quilt question

The thread weight should be fine on your very beautiful quilt. I'm assuming that you are doing your decorative stitches before you sandwich and tie.

    Re: Machine lifespan

Sewing machines can last a long time or a really short time. I have found that regular maintenance and cleaning make them last. Learn how to clean areas such as bobbin case, any open crevices that...
  19. Re: Can I make Jenny's Windmill block with fat quarters?

I think if you use your bundle for 2 1/2" strips, you would be ok. You would need 2 strips of each colour for each block. I would cut the 5 1/2" from yardage. You would then cut in 2. I would test...

    Good morning,
It's still dark, and we are both up. I woke up early, I was dreaming of the dead mouse DH found in his train room. I had visions of little mice unpacking their suitcases for a winter...

Thanks for the dates. Time to put all events, trip wishes in a bucket to draw and plan. I told DH that I want us to go more places next year and I want to go to more retreats.
