Also, make sure your presser foot is down. When I was trying to FMQ on my Brother, I would often forget to lower it, and would get the rats nest on the back.

I don't use a guide. My Juki has a 1/4" setting - press #2 on the keypad, the needle automatically moves to the right, and the edge of the foot is the 1/4" mark.
I just watched all three seasons last week for the first time - I signed up for Amazon Prime and had myself a good marathon! Now, I cannot wait for tonight! 8 more minutes and I get to take over...
That is one adorable quilt! I think that shallow scallops would work great - or a wave border!
This blog post shows some solids that match: Precut Tuesday!
Joined too!
Very cute! And considering the cost of border prints, what a steal!
I would also love to participate - I think it would get me thinking on a monthly basis, and help me expand my quilting skills. If more than 60 choose to participate, and you must run a lotto, I hope...
Well, that map takes care of whether I'm going out today or not. See the middle dash line? It's running right over me. Ugh.
I've got the top made on this modern half hexi baby quilt, but am very stuck on the backing. My LQS has a few moderns, but none really "spoke" to me, and the other LQS and Joanns really don't have...
Seat cushions to bring to games? Disclaimer - I'm in the north. Football stadiums are freezing up here. :)
Friends,
As I type this, I realize I have made it through what has been, so far, the most difficult year. Since I joined in April, I have come to know many of you very well, and have been lucky...
My first project is to finish the hexagon baby quilt I have up right now, and then move on to the strawberry and cream quilt that is cut and in a project bag.
I love how the alternate blocks are framed in purple!
There are 24 of me. One of the other 23 I have gotten a parking ticket in the mail for. I had to prove I wasn't her by going to the college security office and proving I was in college that day,...
I went easy - mine is the Fons and Porter Design Wall, hung on command hooks. I'm lucky to have a large enough space behind my bedroom door.
I have a lime green print that I have been struggling to use - that will be the binding. No border, and I haven't chosen a backing yet. This is going into the Etsy pile, as I have no one to give it...
Mom and Dad got me lots of nice stuff and only a few had to be returned (wrong sizes). I haven't gotten an odd gift yet, but my sister and I haven't exchanged yet. Two years ago it was an old musty...
OK, this is still on the design wall, so I'm not sure it counts as show and tell yet. LOL. Its made using a Citrus Marbles charm pack by Moda, that I got in the Secret Santa swap, and the half hex...
That is a beautiful quilt! Great job!!!
I'll jump in here, unfortunately not to help you find a pattern. I'm also searching. I'd love one of the Vneck plus size patterns, but am having a very hard time finding them. The bib aprons just...
I just cut up a charm pack last night using the half hexi, and noticed the same problem. I'm hoping that with the sewing, it'll be ok. I'm making a modern hexagon baby quilt.
For me, the planning is the relaxing part of sewing. Getting into it and realizing I am 1/2 an inch too short is not relaxing at all. But that's my bipolar too. As far as quilting since Christmas,...
At around 11:00, Jenny mentioned the Magic Twist at the center of the block. What is that???
Thanks for the advice everyone. I did try the pressing sheet, but ended up just picking most of it off with my fingers. Mom was able to iron several uniforms for work tomorrow without an issue, and...
