  7. Re: How do you presssesms openwithout burning your fingers?

Thanks All! Lots of good ideas here. I had never heard of strip sticks before. Finger cots and finger pressing are good ideas, too.
  8. How do you presssesms openwithout burning your fingers?

I am usually too lazy to press seams open, but when I must I scorch my fingers, especially on small blocks. How do you do it?

Edited to correct all those typos, but find you can’t change title....

I did prewash a flannel charm pack once. The squares were pinked so I didn’t worry about unraveling. I was making a quick baby playmat and wanted a lattice look with 1.5 cotton strips and I was...

    Re: opinions please

I am really enjoying M* cotton thread for both piecing and walking foot quilting. It does produce some lint, but not much. I like the feel of it.

I like string quilting. I generally use white as center string and just use scraps . I call them kaleidoscope quilts
  23. Re: Has anyone encountered your partner not being okay with gifts?

No, I haven’t experienced this. I would separate my hobby, and not go to quilting stores together, etc... You might try explaining that the giving is PART of your hobby.
