  3. Re: bottom thread comes up to top on FMQ...advice?

I hope so Vicky! What a stupid thing to happen! I still can't believe it!
  4. Re: bottom thread comes up to top on FMQ...advice?

Problem solved..and you aren't going to believe this. Who'd a thunk it!?!?!?!?!?

So I tried everything mentioned above and still...the red came through the top. So I decided that I'd put a neutral...
  5. Re: bottom thread comes up to top on FMQ...advice?

Deegles...now that I don't know. It is a Disney copyright fleece of Mickey Mouse..and when I bought it I noticed it was thinner and stretchier than the usual fleece I buy. WOuld that mean it is knit?...
  6. Re: bottom thread comes up to top on FMQ...advice?

I just made a sandwich with the actual fleece, batting and cotton top.....worked perfectly fine! Tried the quilt...red comes to top. Loosened top tension...no change. Made sure no stress on the...
  7. bottom thread comes up to top on FMQ...advice?

I am trying to FMQ meander stitch a quilt....top is pieced 100% cotton and thin 80/20 batting and the back is 100% polyester fleece. I have done this in the past with no problem, but... now a...
  8. Re: Ok... here's exactly why I dont' like charm packs (let me get up on my soap box....)

Cat n Bull.... I will check this out. Sounds like what I could use!
  9. Re: Ok... here's exactly why I dont' like charm packs (let me get up on my soap box....)

What I meant was...I'd buy charm packs more if I knew I could swap those in the pack that I don't like, for something I do like instead of just tossing them into a scrap bucket and maybe using them...
  10. Re: Ok... here's exactly why I dont' like charm packs (let me get up on my soap box....)

Thats what I meant kaydee....an "orphaned charm swap"! I would buy charms more often if there were more of the same print in a pack. Oh well.. I 'll just stick with buying yardage and cutting my own!...
  11. Re: Ok... here's exactly why I dont' like charm packs (let me get up on my soap box....)

But why call it Hummingbird..where you only got 6 of those. They were the minority of designs.
  12. Re: Ok... here's exactly why I dont' like charm packs (let me get up on my soap box....)

I'm not saying they are. I"m just discussing (as many agree) why we don't like charm packs. Sometimes if you say why you dont' like something...someone has a suggestion how to work around it........
  13. Re: Ok... here's exactly why I dont' like charm packs (let me get up on my soap box....)

I did just do something like that kaydee... I bough 4 packs of the "Lovely" charms awhile back...and used the ones I liked and made mention of not using the others (half of each pack) and someone...
  14. Re: Ok... here's exactly why I dont' like charm packs (let me get up on my soap box....)

No, you are right...fiffth look and squinting and about 8 inches from the monitor...yeah, those are birds..solid color outline on same color background. If you have to look that hard...it isn't worth...
  15. Ok... here's exactly why I dont' like charm packs (let me get up on my soap box....)

I just had to say this as it popped up on another disucssion and I looked at it and boy howdy bingo was it's name!

The main reason I don't like charm packs is this.....(the other is they...
  16. Re: Is it okay to add more sugar to a muffin mix?

Now t hat's a thought. I keep them frozen, then toss them in flour to keep them from melting and being just gooey in the batter and all falling to the bottom and it works, but I wonder if tossing...
  17. Re: Is it okay to add more sugar to a muffin mix?

Oh my gosh, that is the same recipe in my Betty Crocker book for boys and girls...that I got when I was like 10! I loved bisquick cause i was able to make ...anything ! I still use the pizza recipe!...
  18. Re: Is it okay to add more sugar to a muffin mix?

I used extract, and know pure is more flavor, but twice as expensive and with as much vanilla as I use in baking...I just can't afford it, but...I think I will buy a bottle and use it sparingly on...
  19. Re: Is it okay to add more sugar to a muffin mix?

I did forget to mention the strusel on top. It was really good, but once you eat past the strusel...all you taste is the blueberries and a batter of no flavor. I ate the top and the berries and...
  20. Re: Is it okay to add more sugar to a muffin mix?

1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 c vegetable oil and 1/2 tsp vanilla. All just standard ingredients and measurements for 12 muffins. Density of batter was perfect..flaky and light colored and moist. Just no...
  21. Re: Is it okay to add more sugar to a muffin mix?

Thanks K...I didn't know they cook faster with sugar. I knew cookies will spread more with sugar and the edges would burn. But I can reduce bake time and temp. IT called for vegetable oil..I used...
  22. Is it okay to add more sugar to a muffin mix?

I am working on finding a recipe for blue berry (or cranberry or strawberry!) muffins....that taste like ones from a bakery. Well, I found one... and made them...and the batter is okay, but since it...
  23. Re: Need suggestions on how to make a square top...rectangle and bigger

Oh, now I like that idea! Make them, maybe about 3-4 inches wide and (whatever the math would be) to make it 85" long...then borders around. I'll sketch it out and see. Thanks for the idea!
  24. Re: Need suggestions on how to make a square top...rectangle and bigger

That would probably work, but there are so many seams all over and pressed and everything.. I do not want to try to rip the seams out..as I know it would aggrievate me to no end and I wouldn't finish...
  25. Re: Need suggestions on how to make a square top...rectangle and bigger

Thanks Hulamoon....I have since topped buying charms. I bought them before I realized what they were. I mean, I knew they were all one line, different colors, but it didn't sink in I guess. Using...
