    Re: flying geese ruler

When I needed to make a ton of flying geese for a mystery quilt, I used the no-waste method and made them a little big, then used the bloc-loc flying geese ruler to clean them up. It is not cheap,...

    Re: Quilting and home decor

I had a neighbor who used liquid starch to apply fabric to the wall of her daughter's room. It washed off when they moved out, but they were only there for a year, so I can't speak to longevity.

    Re: Jaybird Quilts

Lori Holt's book Spelling Bee has letters in two sizes, 6" and 12". I have both books, and when I made my daughter's wedding quilt, I found the letters in Spelling Bee easier to make.

Re: Advice - Roxanne's Baste it glue

I would use a scrap of your fabric and apply the glue and iron, as you did the first time. Then wash it to see if the marks will wash off. Whenever I have an unexpected outcome, I try to replicate...
  5. Re: Presencia 60 wt. cotton thread - anyone used it?

I have used it for piecing and been very happy with it. I found it at a LQS for a very reasonable price. I thought it was less linty than some other threads I've tried.

    Re: On Ringo Lake

Thank you for setting up this group. This is my first mystery quilt. I picked up the color cards yesterday, and got some discounted fat quarters from my local quilt shop. I love the colors, and...
  7. Re: Opinions please on using deco bob 80wt thread?

I recently saw Deco Bob used for applique , and it looked great. It convinced me to buy a spool, because I have a project coming up to try it out on.

    Re: Frustrated frustrated fustrated

And Craftsy has a free shipping code HOLIDAYS. Not sure if it'll ship free to Hawaii, though.

    Re: Frustrated frustrated fustrated

I don't know which island you're on, but both Walmart and Joann have a free ship-to-store option that might work for you. I think you can get Warm and Natural through either store.

Re: Gift from wetzel! Don't know your user name

That was me. I am usually a lurker here, but I cleaned out my thread and found something that I hope you can put to good use. Sorry, but, as soon as I sealed the box, I realized that I had...

    Re: Shopping Cart Problems

Thanks Al, it works great now. Yes, we had an address change, so that was my problem. Of course, I had to place an order, just to make sure it worked. ;)

And I rejoiced too early. I am still having a problem checking out.

Al, I sent you an email with a screenshot of what I get when I try to check out.

    Re: Shopping Cart Problems

Thank you. I've missed several daily deals because I couldn't check out. Your solution worked for me. Of course, my checking account might not be as grateful!

    Re: Windows 10?

I was an early adopter, and I like it much better than Windows 8. It just seems more intuitive to me.

    Re: Sharing a laugh

You could make them pillowcases with the Batman and pirates theme.
  16. Re: Janome comments... thinking of a 3160 or 9900

I have the 7700 (the one that is all white, not the one with red) and love it. Haven't had any problems. Love my Janome.

Re: Do you use your pressure foot knee lift?

I have it on two of my machines, and I use it all the time. In fact, when I sew on my old Kenmore, my knee automatically moves, even though there is no bar. I have the opposite problem of many of...

    Re: Peg Boards

I've painted the pegboard to match the wall, just applied primer and paint. The paint held up fine. The problem is making sure my husband doesn't take my hooks for the pegboard in his shop.

Re: Why, oh why did I have to see this pattern??

I got the quick curve ruler at Connecting Threads, but haven't tried it yet. This is a beautiful pattern.

    Re: Creative Grids Rulers

Thank you! I've been wanting the Stripology ruler, and between the sale price and the $10 they gave me as a new customer, it brought the price down to an affordable level for me.

    Re: Buying a home

I have owned houses in neighborhoods without HOAs, with stringent HOA requirements, and now live in a house with a very laid back HOA (so far). It all depends on the area, the HOA, and your goals. ...
  23. Re: Tried the twisted ruler, liked it....now what?

I would do a narrow border with the dark color you have there, follow it with a wide in the medium, and bind it with the red. For some reason, I always like to have that pop color farthest out,...
