    Re: Wool Pressing Mat Brand

I saw the tip about the wool saddle pad but some who ordered them complained about the smell when using them. Just thought I’d mention it FYI.

    Re: Melatonin?

This doesn’t happen to everyone. Ambien got me through a period of deep depression and sleep deprivation (2 hours or less a night) when I could hardly function. Taken as prescribed and with DH...

    Re: Cell phones and Grandkids

My daughter just got her girls (age 11 and 8) watches with the ability to phone or text contacts that her parents allow. They also have GPS tracking. DD is able to contact them when picking up from...

    Re: Layer cakes

I’ve never purchased plain layer cakes. Would rather cut my own from yardage sine I usually have that on hand.

I always like a pinwheel quilt.
  7. Re: Using vinyl with baby bibs and fabric grocery bags?

Maybe you could make a small test piece and wash it to see what happens.

Re: What am I doing wrong!

I do that and put on a drop of Elmer’s School Glue before I clip.

I also press as KPH does, making sure the bulk is going in opposite directions.

    Another Graduation Quilt

Just sent this one to my great-niece who graduated high school and is on her way to college. The triangle border was made from the bonus HST. I really like the way it turned out. Hope she likes it. ...

    Re: Thoughts?

I agree with the others, too expensive. Pegboard would do the job for less and the pot lid holder sounds like a great solution. I’ve also seen some who use those vertical desk organizers.

Isn’t she amazing! I love this technique. Will give it a try on one of the next ones I quilt.

    Graduation Quilt

I made this quilt for my great-nephew’s graduation. He played a lot of baseball as he was growing up. Hope he likes it. Got a bit creative with the label. It probably should have been signed in...

Re: Is acid free storage a big deal

Don’t know about the acid free but a word of warning about that empty fourth drawer. If it’s on the bottom your file cabinet will be top heavy and could tip when upper drawers are open. Learned this...

    Re: Quilting a string quilt

Bonnie Hunter does it all the time. Does it have borders? That should stabilize it.

I finished four in the last couple of weeks. Gave myself permission to start a new one even though there are still many more UFOs waiting.

    Re: cutting hand quilted quilts

Maybe do a double row of stay stitching before adding the binding. If the quilts won’t be used or laundered much they’d probably be okay.

I might be going but won’t be taking any classes. I hope they make this a yearly event.
