  1. Re: HST triangles from layer cake, what to square them to?

thanks, i do have the slotted trimmer. I have to say it's a little labor intensive but i'm thinking i want to go ahead and square these up. Normally i would just run with it and not square up, but...
  2. Re: HST triangles from layer cake, what to square them to?

    thanks for the confirmation.
  3. HST triangles from layer cake, what to square them to?

Hi - I'd like to make the Happy Hearts quilt. After cutting the HST from the layer cake and sewing them together, Jenny advises to square them up . Does anyone know what the measurement is to...

    Re: AccuQuilt Go Big

Hi - yes, I just got it a couple of months ago. I love it! It is expensive and I've added some additional dies when on sale. But, from a cutting perspective, you can't beat it. I bought the...
  5. Anyone try the Quilt as You Go Hexi yet?

Hi - has anyone else tried the Quilt as You Go Hexagon template yet? I tried it out this morning and I have to say it's not as daunting as I thought it would be. In the tutorial, the ladies pin it...

    Brother PQ1500SL threading problem

Hi - does anyone else have the Brother PQ1500SL machine and have problems with the needle threader? I use the cotton 50wt thread and the threader breaks the thread almost every single time. It's so...

Re: I hate my machine, what do you have?

I just bought a Brother PQ1500SL about 6 months and it is wonderful for straight sewing/piecing and quilting thru layers. Very reasonable price for an industrial strength machine. Otherwise, I'm...
  9. Re: Please help me decide thread color for quilting...help

I would say it depends if you want your thread to 'pop'. If you want to see the thread color, my initial thought was yellow. If you don't really want it to pop, then perhaps a light grey.
  10. Re: I swear the MSQC girls are going down my Favs list!

I had to order that lavender layer cake as my neighbor wants a lavender dresden quilt. It will be so pretty!
  11. I swear the MSQC girls are going down my Favs list!

  12. Re: Make a "Waves" Quilt with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star 08.09.19

I didn't think I wanted to go near curves, but I am hooked on them now! Practice a few first, then you'll be fine.
  13. Re: Make a "Waves" Quilt with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star 08.09.19

I love this pattern as well. I have only been sewing a couple of years, but i went ahead and dove into the Clamshell quilt after being afraid of curves, and i have to say, after about 10 of them,...

    great info, thanks!
  16. Re: Anyone use a Sizzix or other fabric die cutting machine?

thank you. I have the Cricut Maker but it's really labor intensive to cut fabric, but the Sizzix looks like it would be well worth it.
  17. Re: Anyone use a Sizzix or other fabric die cutting machine?

thank you, i figured there would definitely be more waste but with wrist issues myself, it might be worth it.
  18. Anyone use a Sizzix or other fabric die cutting machine?

I literally just discovered there are Sizzix machines that cut fabric. I am totally interested in machines that would cut the normal 5" or 10" or 2.5" squares, plus I see MSQC has the dresden die as...

  25. Re: Anyone make a dresden block that fits on a 10" square?

I decided to just use a couple of charm packs so I'll need the 14" block. Jenny's tutorial is great and here is what mine is going to look like.
