Re: Live or Silent Auction For a Quilt??

At our church auction, the silent auction quilts usually sell for less than $100. Live auction ones have sold for 400-500. Try to make one that will appeal to most. I too, would lean towards...

Re: A QAYG question regarding backing??

A quilt like that will probably be on display somewhere and no one will ever see the back, I wouldn't worry about it. The memories are the star of the show! Beautiful!

    Re: Military patch quilt

You could maybe attach the patches to the top before you put it together for quilting. I have only worked with Girl Scout patches, but when I attached them to the vest, I sewed just inside of the...

In the rag quilts I have done (not many) I cut the batting about an inch smaller than the squares and sewed an X through the block. That way, the batting won't be in the ragged part.

Re: Is this a good deal on a serger

Well, I bought it! Hubby said for the price, I should get it. If I find myself using it lots, I may upgrade down the road. But If I find I don't really use it too much, then it is not a huge loss....

Is this a good deal on a serger

I am not really in the market for a serger, but this looked like a great deal. I might just pick one up.

    Re: Taking a poll

Pick the color that stands out the most on the front. If you have any tie-die shirts, you could use variegated thread in that color scheme. With a white back, that could look really cool. I wish...
  10. Re: Anthropologie-type Flanged/Ruffled Quilt Binding

Kind of looks like it was 'Birthed'. Sewn right sides together with 'Ruffle' inside. Leave opening to flip right side, then sew around perimeter. Then quilted.

Re: EQ7 - Do you use it? Is it worth it ($)?

I just bought EQ Design Wizard for $20.00 on Amazon. It has a fairly large library of blocks and fabrics. It is very easy to use and I like that it can easily flip blocks to make different...

Re: Border choice for an Irish chain

If you can't make it match, then maybe you could make it look different on purpose. Like maybe find a green darker than your darkest one and use the same color all the way around.
