    Re: Embroidery machine

My husband bought my embroidery machine for Xmas 1998.
I use my Emb. machine mainly to stitch quilt blocks for
crib quilts/lap quilts. These quilts make wonderful baby
    shower quilts and Xmas...

    Re: Rag quilt

Search the Internet. I’m sure there’s enough
information to answer any questions you
    May have.
One word of caution is to never give a rag quilt to a baby
or a toddler. All the fringes are...

    One block wonder forum

I’m getting ready to start my first
    One Block Wonder Quilt :-)
Does anyone know of a good forum
for this type of quilt? I have watched
a lot of videos and would be
    interested in others making...

    Re: Polka Dots

I also love the dots fabric. I frequently use them
for crib/lap quilts. The string quilt already posted
is a favorite. Also use the dots fabric with
bright Kona solids for children’s quilts....
  5. Re: Pattern for lap quilts for individuals in wheelchairs

I’ve made several wheelchair quilts and donated
them to nursing homes. I just sat in a chair and
measured the width of my lap. Then measured
to the floor. I chose colorful fabrics and a
    simple...

    Re: Triangles

You never cut squares that would leave bias
edges to work with. The best way to make your
Triangles with no bias edges are-
Cut your squares 1 inch bigger than your
    pattern calls for. Place two...
  7. Re: Anyone make a dresden block that fits on a 10" square?

I’m sure you can search the Internet for
a pattern that will fit a 10 inch block.

    Re: Polyester fleece blanket batting?

Polyester and cotton fabrics will shrink differently
when washed. It’s usually not a good idea to
    mix polyester and cotton fabrics.
When you say cotton sheeting do you mean you
    are going to cut...

    Re: Need a sewing machine

I have Bernina computerized machines. I would never
buy anything else. You get what you pay for.
    $200 machines are disposable machines.
They will last a couple years. Then you are
    right back...

Re: Cutting my table for a drop in machine.

Be sure to put your machine as far right as you can.
You need the area to the left of your machine
As an open area for your fabric as you piece
    your quilt.

Re: Cutting my table for a drop in machine.

It may help to go to a local store that sells your machine
and look at the cutouts they have in their tables.
You may be able to make a template with a
    large piece of paper.
    My table has a...

If you have a closet it will be a great place to put
Wire baskets/ shelves for fabric storage.

Re: Anyone else thought about this?

I have two machines both computerized.
I love the way they sew and I like the
option to change the needle position.
Both are Berninas. The embroidery machine
I bought new. The one I piece on I...
  14. Re: Make a "Fancy Flight" Quilt with Jenny Doan

She uses the flying geese pattern which
has been around for years. The geese are
always sewn with the vertical strips.
A great way to use a favorite fabric
    for a cute border.

Re: satin binding - make or pre-made?

Satin doesn’t wear well. Baby quilts get washed a lot.
Satin binding will have to be replaced before the
quilt wears out. Works better with a fancy quilt
that will not be used/washed a lot.
    Rag...

    Re: Quilting

Personally I see no reason to ever use starch
at any stage of the quilting process.
Plus I would not want to add harmful
    chemicals to my fabric/quilt.

    Re: MY SEWING CABINETS.....

Nice job! I too must have my fabric sorted and
organized. I have metal open baskets on
runners so they pull out for easy access.
I sort my fabrics by color. When I need
red fabric I can go to the...

    Re: White Fabric dilemma

I have used white on white for several quilts
I liked the texture it gives white fabric.

Re: Quick and easy layer cake pattern

I think something that would go with your

Re: All Stars quilt but in charm square size

Using 1 1/2 strips will be 1 inch after seams. Very small.
I imagine that’s why 2 1/2 inch strips are usually used.
Be sure to keep everything in proportion.
    Small star points/ small centers....

    Re: machine embroidery on quilt
