    Re: jelly roll race size

Deegles, you can get the same final measurement, 40 x 80, a lot easier by not sewing them as a “jelly roll race” that would require sewing them end-to-end and then doing a lot of cutting. Instead,...
  2. Re: Yet another Flower Power stash buster, done and dusted!

I don't think this quilt is ugly! I've seen a lot of quilts on this site that are gaudier that this. I bought the same fabric (minus the green border) at Big Lots a few years ago, made a child's...

Re: Pattern for Floral jelly rolls

Additional info: The "Diamond Fence Rail" quilt has diamonds but not the horizontal sashes that I mentioned. There's a "Diamond Dash" quilt that has diamonds and horizontal sashes. Both patterns...

Re: Pattern for Floral jelly rolls

I would make a Fence Rail. It's a pattern that's been around for a long time, but I couldn't find a tutorial on MSQC for it. I did find a tutorial for a Diamond Fence Rail. If you omit the diamonds...

Re: I'm Sorry Missouri Star Quilt Co. But....

Laurie B, when you selected FEDEx Express shipping for $7, didn't that mean in addition to the regular $5 charge for shipping? So the total charge for shipping was $12?

Did you try eBay and Etsy?
  8. Re: How to figure sashing, border fabric quantities

Kim0201, can you tell us the exact name of the "dashing star" quilt that you referred to? I looked at all of Jenny's tutorials that had "star" in the name, and couldn't find one that was called...

I'm too late with my answer, but I have just now read your post. I would have said, "Ask Gracie" which she prefers.
  10. Re: Ok What day is it? You know, come on say it, say it!!

I'm like Katrina in that I don't like hot weather, but I'm not keen on cold, either. We have extremes of both where I live (Texas). I told a niece the other day that I wish I could find a better...

    Re: Iron recommendation

I’ve had a Rowenta for 10 or 15 years or longer. I really like it because it’s the only iron I’ve ever had that did not leak, and I’ve had many brands over the years. It’s the model that stores the...

    Re: Using up my scraps

I like the gray background and the gray square in the middle of each group of prints. So many quilts use white for the background, that I'm always glad to see another color.

    Re: WOW....Daily Deal Shipping

cvquilter, You said on Dec. 14th that M* said your order was "Processing," so that means it was in their system. They frequently say Processing before they say Shipped. If you had waited a few more...

    Re: WOW....Daily Deal Shipping

When M* says that something has been shipped, it just means that a shipping label has been created. Actual shipping takes place late in the day, and it may not be the same day that the label was...

    Bobbins for Janome 8050

I need to know which class of bobbins the maker of the Janome 8050 sewing machine recommends in the manual or instruction booklet. I have looked all over my house but cannot find my booklet. Thank...

    Golden Star

Does anyone know why M* isn't having the Golden Star project this year? Surely it has made a lot of money for M* in the past.

    Re: Binding question

I read a blogger's comment some time ago where she said she had used 10-inch squares for a binding. The main thing I remember about her comments is that she used 10 of the squares, cut into 2.5-inch...

Re: Which Bobbins for Janome 8050

I guess I should have said I need to know the "Class number" instead of the size, for the bobbins. There's a Class 15 and a Class 99, and there may be other numbers. I hope the manual for the Janome...

    Which Bobbins for Janome 8050

Will someone who has a Janome 8050 please look in the manual and tell me which bobbins I should buy for my Janome 8050. I cannot find my manual. I have some bobbins that my machine doesn't like, and...
  23. Re: there was an old woman who lived...so many orphans what could she do

I would like to repeat what MHG Winnower said: "Thank you for the explanation on how you deal with the blocks, Terry. Very Helpful." Also, I enjoyed the humor at the end.

  25. Re: Redemption! Never Waste Scraps again + GIVEAWAY

Pam, why don't you try using waxed paper and tell us how it works. Stitch a row of tiny stitches, then see if the paper tears away from the stitches easily.
