    Re: What's your favorite .........

I like string quilting. I generally use white as center string and just use scraps . I call them kaleidoscope quilts
  3. Re: Has anyone encountered your partner not being okay with gifts?

No, I haven’t experienced this. I would separate my hobby, and not go to quilting stores together, etc... You might try explaining that the giving is PART of your hobby.

    Re: Lets Talk Chairs

I switched from an office chair on wheels to a straight back kitchen chair and have had fewer back aches and foot cramps.
  12. Re: Embarking on the easy clam shell quilt this morning

Way to go. Your bravery is inspiring. I recently received the ruler, but started on a different quilt as I waited for it. Looking at the ruler itself gives me a bit of pause at the task ahead,...

    What is the bias, exactly?

:0:icon_hi: My name isn’t Old Newbie for nothing. The only way I know I am dealing with the bias is when the fabric is stretchy. I do not have an understanding of what creates that stretch. I have...

    Need a bit of inspiration.

I usually have someone in mind to make a quilt. I have a big family , so there are usually babes on the way, a wedding in the offing, etc. Just at the moment, I want to start a quilt with no one in...
