    Re: Saturday greetings

New babies are so very wonderful, enjoy.
Not much sewing for me today, college football and then perhaps some yard work. We bought a new tree to replace a diseased one we had taken down. Planting...

I have made many flying geese and have many more to go. I had to order more background since I couldn't find it locally so...
  3. Re: Make a Thankful Wall Hanging with Jenny Doan

    So very cute.
  4. Re: Shrinkage from a fat quarter project

I have washed fat quarters. If you do you will have some raveling and probably shrinkage.
It is possible your batting shrunk as well as the cotton fabric.

    Re: Have you heard

Sorry about the lack of fall color. We are planning a trip through West Virginia, Ohio and Western Pa next month. Hope there are some pretty colors to look at.

    Re: Wednesday Already

It is a beautiful day here but will be hot, hot, hot. The weatherman promises that tomorrow will see some relief from the high 90s. I am so ready.

Our temps are in the high 90s, too. I am ready for some fall and the weather people are promising things to get better Thursday.
We were talking about getting the diseased tree down in our front...

    Re: Selling question

I have bought machines from Craigslist and sold to members of my guild. It will probably be difficult to get a big price from either.

    Re: Monday Morning Greetings! :)

Good morning friends. Sorry about the skunk, luckily we don't have them in our neighborhood. I do smell them along the highway sometimes and can't imagine how horrible that smell would be close up....

    Re: Opinions please?

Bias binding shouldn't be any more difficult than straight binding. It might take a bit more fabric though.

    Re: Marking mini charms

I did a bunch yesterday, lay your square on a piece of sandpaper then mark with a pencil. I don't think any of mine stretched.

We have a beautiful day that promises to be another hottie.
We head to the beach tomorrow for a week in paradise, no sewing will be done but perhaps a little shopping at a LQS. Today I need to pack...

    Re: Quilting

Starching can reduce wrinkle but even better it reduces raveling. I starch when I am prepping fabric to cut and then again when pressing stubborn seams and often before sandwiching.
    I have a friend...

    Re: Saturday Morning Greetings! :)

    Good morning friends.
Yesterday I went to a quilt shop with DH cousin and had fun selecting some bargain pieces for the next guild challenge. It is a mystery that requires 8 half yards of...
  17. Re: Make a "Building Blocks" Quilt with Jenny Doan

It bothered me, too. I would have to add some coordinating fabric so that the left and bottom would have sashing as well. I do really like the fabric she used, such a cuddly looking quilt.

    Re: Displaying Quilts

Will you have a place to prop a ladder ? That always looks like a good display to me.
  20. Re: It's Wednesday! Today's the Day! :)

Glad to hear that so far it is gusty rain and wind, not destruction. Keep being safe.
I would love a new mattress but don't want one of those crazy thick ones. Our bed is high enough without several...

  24. Re: BEGINNER QUILTING - SHOULD YOU PREWASH YOUR FABRIC? Part 1 - SHRINKAGE...THE WHEN AND WHY

Maybe wash/maybe not, it depends the source of the fabric. I usually wash large cuts destined to be backing but certainly not precuts.
