    Re: Sewing Room organization....

Yep! I live in a 2 bedroom house and share a corner of the lounge room for my sewing. I couldn't imagine haing that kind of space to begin with, let alone filling it with fabric!!!

Hi CJ, I sell baby quilts and lap quilts at local markets and mother's fairs. While they do sell it usually takes about 3 or 4 markets before a quilt will sell. Mostly I take about 4 to 6 quilts...

    Re: New York Beauty

I'm in love with those Kaffe fabrics that are almost iridescent in blues, purples, reds, greens. Maybe with plain colours like mulberry, teal, burnt orange.

    Re: Vintage feedsack material

Go for it! I would love to have some feed sacks to make a quilt from but for the price. If it was mine I would do it all by hand in the traditional way so that I would feel like I was doing justice...

I drew the tree trunk shape and then just added leaf shapes in different "leaf" colours, ironed them on with fusible webbing and straight stitched close to the edge (I want the edges to have...

    Re: Giveaway Week 72 Jun 29 - July 6th

The Dresden plate is the first that comes to mind, probably because I've just been planning what fabrics to use for my first attempt at dresden

    Re: Burp Cloths

This is the shape I make mine. It fits nicely next to your neck and covers all the way out to the shoulder. Here in Aus our cloth nappies (diapers) are made of terry towelling so that is what I use...

    Re: Burp Cloths

I use terry toweling on the back and cotton on the front with a thick cheap flannel in the middle. Nothing leaks through, and they wash very well.

    Re: Giveaway Week 68 Jun 5th - 8th

I take my DH to the fishing tackle store and let him go nuts. I don't care how much he buys, it's never going to equal the amount I spend on fabric :)

It is the same here in Aus. I don't even turn on the TV or radio anymore, silence is better than the hype they go on with. We are a nation founded on convicts sent off from Britain for being...

Our heat is not a dry heat like that though, we have very high humidity so it feels like you are in a sauna 24 hours a day.

    Re: Heat wave in UAE!

I do remember one year here where it got to 47C. That was scary with fires starting by themselves and the road melting to your shoes. I was in primary school at the time, no aircon, 45 minute bus...
