    Re: Have you ever wondered......

White is also a neutral and doesn't distort the color of the fabric. Also, white is more reflective and since the lighting in the throat isn't the greatest (usually) it helps to have a bright...

    Re: Alto's Cutting Mat

I bought it at a Quilt Expo and kind of regret the purchase. It takes quite a bit of space and is best to have a dedicated space. It also takes a bit to figure out how to layer the fabrics to make...

    Re: Skin Tone Fabric

Sorry I can't offer any advice but I am totally jazzed at the idea. Hope you post pics for the Whovians on the board.

    Re: Do colors disturb you?

DH came downstairs the other day and I sent him right back up to change something in his outfit. His comment "but honey, it's all blue so it goes together." Yes, there are color combinations that are...

    Re: American Horror Story

Loved season 1. 2 was too dark for me. Season 3, the Coven even beat season 1 in my book. Waiting for season 4 on reruns or Netflix.

    Re: Quilting a disappearing 9-patch

You can also do SID and some FMQ in the feature blocks. I have eagles in my corner blocks so that is probably what I will do.

Re: How do you machine applique?????

Here is how I do it:
Draw the pattern on Soft Fuse (my favorite light-weight fusible). Remember to mirror the drawing if it matters.
Cut the shape a little larger than the line.
    Place it...

    Re: Straight line quilting question

I have quilted MANY quilts in the ditch, quilting one half first (all lines starting from the same end) and then the other side, and I have never had a distorted quilt. The key is in the preparation....

Never even heard of it. What does it do? Is "squedging" a verb? lol
  23. Re: Why is my seam allowance shrinking when I sew?
