    Re: Jelly Roll rug

Use a 16/100 needle; lengthen your stitch; use your walking foot and go SLOW. When I made mine I found that if I went at my regular speed the stitches were not even. Good luck!

Re: What's on your Memorial Day menu?

First barbecue of the season if the weather holds. We've had rain and clouds all weekend except for about 4 hours on Saturday. Should have planned our barbecue for that day. Anyway, kids will be over...

    Re: do you think

Scorching the fabric permanently changes the color of the fabric. No amount of bleach will change this and I agree with those who say that you risk damaging the backing. We all make mistakes. Learn...

Re: What's doing for Easter dinner?

Had some medical issues and surgery earlier this week so I decided to order dinner from Omaha Steaks instead of cooking. Everything arrived yesterday with all the instructions so should be easy...

  9. Re: How many of you have dreamed of wanting a Kitchen Aid Mixer?

My DH bought mine for me for Christmas about 25 years ago. One of the few times I was actually excited for an appliance. I bake quite a bit so mine is in use all the time. Like others I don't keep...

  12. Re: Trigger warning.needle injury story and Questions.

Happened to me about 20 years ago. It was late one night and I was machine appliqueing some t-shirts for a craft show I was selling in and on a deadline. I was so tired and should not have been...

    Re: Vintage Elna Machine question

I agree, $25 is an insult for an offer. The first machine I purchased for myself 30+ years ago was an Elna and I still have it and use it when my regular machine is in for service. It makes...

    Re: Rotating Cutting Mats?

I have the Olfa 12" one like this one. I used the 50% off coupon when I got it a few years ago and I believe it was under $25. I keep it by my sewing machine and it's a lifesaver for certain...

For our family it's Party Potatoes, a decadent mix of butter, cream cheese and sour cream mixed with the mashed potatoes and baked in a casserole along with homemade rolls. Nothing like bringing out...

    Re: Monday Trivia: Maryland

Anita, I love this! My husband has been doing some work off and on in Maryland for the past few months. I went to visit him a week ago and fell in love with the place. Annapolis is such a quaint town.

I succumbed as well. I love scraps and I needed a few other things so the DD just jumped into my cart! :D

Re: word/directional fabric as a border

I just had this same dilemma. I ended up having them go all the way around. I'm picking the quilt up from the longarmer tomorrow so will post a photo as soon as the binding is done.
