Re: Any Quilters from Washington State?

My sister in law lives in Liberty Lake near Spokane and they have a big quilt show every October. There are several very nice quilt stores in LLake and between them and Spokane, called Spokane Valley.
  2. Re: A 'chunk' missing from my batting . . . is making me 'batty'!

You could always buy a small piece of the same brand/weight batting and use that for piecing. Essentially you would end up with batting it's original size. I think 1.5-2" on each side is enough. That...

Re: this will set you wondering....

The solution to organizing your stash is to not have a big one. Another one is to not have money to spend on future projects, only the next one! Both work for me!
  4. Re: A returning member > > with a Quilting Question

I rarely use pins with spray basting. But if your quilt is large you might want a few on the edges. Glad to know you are lurking out there!

Re: Thankful for those who encourage

I couldn't agree more with your conclusions. It's sad to think of the folks out there that may never know the joys of quilting because they thought that they couldn't "afford" to try!

Phew! The forum does it again!
  14. Re: Anyone know the name of this quilt pattern?

It's amazing that each block looks so different and yet up close you realize the squares have the same piecing. No wonder we never get bored with quilting! (Well, almost never)
  15. Re: Ladybugs are done/ Can you identify the pattern?

Maybe you will have to name it yourself! It's lovely by any name!
  16. Re: Faster way of cutting many many many squares

I have the stripology ruler and can cut strips very quickly. Then turn the strips and cut the squares. It's very much like the June Taylor ruler. How many squares do you need? Do they have to be cut...

    Re: Easiest quilt for beginners?

The zipper quilt is easy, too and I quilted it in long columns and then joined them. Didn't need to send it out for quilting. I joined the three layers by just quilting the verticle sashing.
