    Re: Pineapple quilt

Do you have a longarm or planning on quilting on a domestic machine?

Before I got my longarm, I quilted a queen size quilt on my machine that had a 7" throat space. I did a stitch in the ditch on...

    Re: Kids 👶

That brings back sweet memories of my two boys! I can remember covering the floor with plastic or newspapers and placing the highchair in the middle then letting them feed themselves.

And if you enlarge the tornado picture, you will see part of a rainbow! Is the tornado gobbling up the rainbow? :icon_beuj:

    Re: Monday Chalk Art/Sky Art/Flower Art 🖼

    Awesome!

Wonder how old David Zinn is? To be able to draw like that on sidewalks, he would be spending a lot of time on his knees. I know my knees could not handle it!
  5. Re: Wednesday Trivia: Egyptians ❤️ Watermelon 🍉

I love watermelon! I'm glad it's found it's way to the USA.

Re: Garment Sewing Advice for a Beginner

I'm only 5'8" but have a hard time with the length of shirt sleeves. If I find a pretty men's shirt I will buy it!

I was so happy when women started wearing high heels with jeans. The clothing...

Oh, it's gorgeous! I love wrap around porches. I wish the newer houses had them.

    Re: Hawaiian flower scraps

I would make a scrappy disappearing 9 patch. Pick a fabric that goes well with all the others and use it for the center square. Remember, the squares can be any size just as long as they are all...

    Re: Lightweight solution?

I like the idea of no batting and serging the seams rather than just piecing that way it can withstand multiple washings.
  12. Re: Determing size of triangle to attach to block

A while back I made a hexagon quilt and did not want to do any "Y" seams. So I stuck a triangle ruler on top of my hexagon and scooted it enough over to include a 1/4" seam allowance. I have the...

Re: Anyone make a quilted burp cloth?

Is there any type of bottom layer that is leak proof? Like vinyl? Or what they make plastic covers for the cloth diapers.
  14. Re: Beta testers needed for new MSQC Shipping program

I think you should add in the videos that your sister is making and all others as they become available.

A choice between $50 in store credit or $50 quilterspoints. A lot of people will never be...

    Re: Finishing Raw Edges

    Same here!

One time I made DH a flannel quilt using flannel fat quarters. I set up my serger in front of the TV and serged the edges of 30 Fat Quarters!
  16. Re: Anyone use something besides batting to quilt with?

When you quilt with a lot of thickness such as fleece or minky on the back, use a walking foot and increase the stitch length to "3". You might also have to loosen the tension on the walking foot. ...
  17. Re: Anyone use something besides batting to quilt with?

Fleece does not "rag". But try a square as a sample and see how it looks to you. I have used minky on the back, flannel in the middle and cotton on top and just quilted an "X" on the squares. ...

    Re: Cutting Squares on Point

I suggest starching the fabric so it holds it's shape better since it's on the bias.
  20. Re: Anyone use something besides batting to quilt with?

    LOL - good one!

I throw lysol wipes on the kitchen floor to wipe up spots when I find out someone is coming over before I do house work!

I use flannel a lot in regular quilts when I don't want...

Morning Star Inn is just down the street from M*. It's clean and there were 4 of us and there were 4 twin beds, nice size bathroom and a kitchenette.

Re: Trying to order daily special

They added some more daily specials. That Wisteria fat quarter bundle looks really nice. The fq would be a little over 2$ each.

Re: How wide should a border be?

Lay it on the bed it's intended for and see how it lays on the bed and the drop on the sides. Since it is a bed quilt you want it wide and long enough that body parts won't stick out and get cold! ...
