    Re: It's finally Friday

As you all know, I run a bit late. Always. So I'm just getting the backing to my Angela Walters quilt challenge top sewn to size. I'm using the John Flynn diagonal seam method. I was really scared...
  2. Re: Stonehendge "Reptile Ruckus" Panel Baby Quilt is Finished!

    What a fun quilt!

And your quilting is extraordinary. You are very talented.
  3. Re: Juki 2010q makes 2-3 stitches after I let off the pedal or press needle down button

I'm so glad to hear that you are still under warranty! You must feel quite relieved.

Yes, please do post an update. I'd love to hear what happens.
  4. Re: How to clean your iron with vinegar and baking soda.

    @MONIQUE!

I just wanted to send you a great big thank you for posting this article. I thought I had ruined my favorite iron with fried adhesive gunk. But I know there is great wisdom on this...

Hope to see you here on the forum frequently!
  6. Re: Juki 2010q makes 2-3 stitches after I let off the pedal or press needle down button

Thank you for explaining this! You've answered some nagging questions I've had about the Juki. What you've said makes complete sense and answers my questions. I apologize for my mis-statements.

Re: I just had to get it.

I'm super tempted by the M* Oliso, but I own too many irons already!

I love my older Panasonic cordless (shaped like an iron, not a football). But last week, I accidentally got Steam-A-Seam on the...
  9. Re: Juki 2010q makes 2-3 stitches after I let off the pedal or press needle down button

Keep us posted. I think giving your Juki a good cleaning may fix the problem. It's a mechanical machine, so dust bunnies in the wrong places can wreak havoc.

    Re: USPS question

    Hi Lorie,

You can; you just put the outgoing package in your mailbox and raise the red flag.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, raising the red flag for the postal carrier also seems to be an...
  11. Re: quilting for embroidery machine on sale

Thank you, Laura. I just bought a couple of collections!
  12. Re: Juki 2010q makes 2-3 stitches after I let off the pedal or press needle down button

I have the Juki 98E, but I've not seen a lag in stopping. That has got to be frustrating.

My only suggestion is to unplug your foot pedal and clean it. Of course, a foot pedal problem wouldn't...
  13. Re: quilting for embroidery machine on sale

Hi Jean! I do Edge-to-Edge embroidery quilting using designs from Amelie Scott Designs. To facilitate this, I bought a DIME Monster Hoop. This is a perfectly flat "hoop" that uses powerful magnets to...

    Re: Gutermann's cotton thread

Wow. I've never had that happen with Gutermann, but I just checked a spool and I have the 100% Polyester.

The only suggestion I have is to try the vertical spool holder on your machine. The...

    Re: Jennys new Iron

Shhh! You're revealing my deep, dark secret!

Checking M* is part of my nightly routine. Can you imagine how I beat myself up the day the travel iron was sold out at $11, and it was the one night...

    Re: Jennys new Iron

You know it's got to go on sale some day soon! That's the M* way! And when it does, I'll bet it sells out before I even wake up here on the West Coast! :icon_whistle: Just like the $11 deal on that...

Judy, thank you for your service!

And Shermer, thank you for raising a daughter who served! It takes a special parent to do this.

Re: Pre Wash Kona Cotton yardage??

Suzanne makes a really good point about color bleeding. Orchid may be on the pale side, but it also might bleed.

You probably don't know this about me, but I'm a dedicated pre-washer; however, I...

    Re: courtship quilt

Wow, she never tells what fabric that is! I'm not sure, but it may be the blue from the eclectic line. It doesn't look like M* carries it, but you can see it in the Eclectic Elements that quarter...

    Re: It's Monday all right!!

Robin, my heart goes out to you, your friend Dave, and your niece and her family. I will pray for all.

I finished the bed skirt I've spoken of, which means my sewing projects for house staging are...

    Re: memory lane

I took a class where the teacher taught us so many lick-your-finger tricks that I said to my table mate, "It's amazing what you can do with spittle."

Owning a Janome 15000 means the needle...

Re: Pre Wash Kona Cotton yardage??

I make Superman aprons (one is in my album) from Kona yardage, but since I have always pre-washed it, I'm not sure about how much it shrank. I never felt like it was dramatic, but I wasn't paying...
