I viewed the best tutorial on how to do foundation paper piecing on YouTube more than a year and a half ago. It seems like each time I sit down to do this, I have to learn it all over again.

    Teaching A Class

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask this question, but here goes. I understand if it gets moved.

I have begun teaching free motion quilting on a domestic sewing machine. I live in...
  4. Re: Charm pack pinwheels and 4 patch question

Hmmm I can't figure out how to make this work with what I have. I might have to choose a different block for these two charm packs.
  5. Re: Charm pack pinwheels and 4 patch question

Oh now that looks easier than what I had pictured in my mind. I pictured cutting the charm pack into four squares. This is on a larger scale and might be easier. Besides the space between blocks,...

Re: 3 yards of fabric quilts

I ended up making a disappearing 9patch. I only have the top done so far. Thank you for all the ideas. It was very helpful and I did find the idea through the suggestions.

    3 yards of fabric quilts

I purchased three fabrics, one yard each. I want to make a throw quilt. Nothing complicated. I realize I will have to purchase backing. What tutorial/quilt would be good for this? I have a black with...

Re: 5 pointed stars... a question

I don't know which is easier. I also don't know where to find a 5 star pattern for applique, but I'm sure someone could direct me.

Re: 5 pointed stars... a question

Thank you. I now have it together with the cream backing. Funny thing, when I laid it out, I realized that daughter chose the same colors as the rug!

I am a novice at both applique and paper...

    Re: Ophelia quilt question

Oh, I really like that quatrefoil, as well. It has a bit of an old fashioned flower look to it, as well. I actually was considering it. Did you get a solid for the cornerstones?

Re: Star of Bethlehem or by other names...

I might have to check that out. I'm not doing so well. The center looks bad. I'm glad this is just a test to see how the concept works before I dive into a big quilt.

Re: Star of Bethlehem or by other names...

This looks great! I think I might make this smaller one before taking on the larger one so I can get an idea of what's going on.

  25. Re: Using my domestic machine on my Handi frame.... tension question

Thank you! I hadn't thought about stitch length. What did you "practice" on to get the hang of it? I am accustom to sitting at my machine and moving the fabric.
