  1. Re: 12/28/18 Tutorial with Jenny and Edyta Sitar

Me, too. I looked at it early in the morning and everything worked then, but not now.
  2. Re: 12/28/18 Tutorial with Jenny and Edyta Sitar

Where did the video go? I tried and it's not available.
  3. Re: Delectable mountains or mountain majesty

I'm thinking of putting them at right angles to each other, so the only points I'd have to match would be the block points.
  4. Re: Delectable mountains or mountain majesty

Yup, it's Grand Adventures. Thanks, everyone
  5. Re: Delectable mountains or mountain majesty

Off to check them out. I have a yen to make this. Don't really need a pattern, but Jenny's patterns are so easy.
  6. Delectable mountains or mountain majesty

Did Jenny ever post a tutorial on a block called something like delectable mountains or mountain majesty? You make a large HST, press open and then cut into strips. Does this sound familiar?
  7. Re: Make a "Crossing Paths" Quilt with Jenny! New tutorial

The 2" strips would be fine; I'd just make more of them. I made a scrappy trip a few years ago, and I think I used 2.5" strips from some jelly rolls. I followed Bonnie Hunter's pattern, which...
  8. Re: Make a "Crossing Paths" Quilt with Jenny! New tutorial

Any reason why I couldn't do this with a layer cake or two? Cut 2.5" strips and sew together, and then do the seam ripping bit.
  9. Re: English Paper Piecing with Jenny Doan & Sue Daley - The Quatro Colour Quilt

I've done a lot of EPP, and the Quattro quilt is definitely calling me. Like I need another project.

    Re: Another quilt shop closing

It's also possible that the owner just wants to retire from owning a brick and mortar store.

    Re: Another quilt shop closing

There's a lovely new quilt shop in Morris County, NJ, Sew Jersey. Bright, lovely space with excellent parking. I think they could use more fabrics, but they just opened in April so they're adding...

    Re: Another quilt shop closing

My favorite quilt shop! I'm so sad about it. I took my first quilt classes there. The best batiks collection around, and the prices were reasonable, especially when you consider that it's located...
  13. Re: Missouri Star Thread - Today's Daly Deal .99 for Three Spools

Thanks. That's what I do, too. Seems to me that if I'm making a cotton quilt with cotton batting, I should use cotton thread.
  14. Re: Missouri Star Thread - Today's Daly Deal .99 for Three Spools

A question for all you very experienced quilters. I always use cotton for machine and hand sewing. Is polyester better?

Does anyone remember if Jenny posted a tutorial with houses?

    Re: New Jenny tutorial

That's what I think, too. I can just play around and see and make sure that I have enough room for the seam at the top of the triangle.

    Re: New Jenny tutorial

Any ideas on how to do this with 5" blocks and 2.5" ones? How much would you cut off of the folded block?

The Star Struck quilt is going to be gorgeous!

The millefiori quilt is based on the New Hexagon book.

    Re: English paper piecing

I've got 2 in the works with another one in the future. I made a Castle Wall wall hanging for my sister. Need to put a border on it and then the quilt sandwich, etc etc. The big project is the...

Re: Monday, a cold start to the day

24 deg at 6:30 here in the NY metro area. Brrrr. However, it should be in the low 70's Tues-Thurs. Truly weird weather, but it's not snowing, so that's OK.

    Re: New Block magazine

    Probably next week.
  24. Re: Is anybody here doing Bonnie's Leader/Ender tumbler challenge?

They fit all those 2.5" strips. and they go together so quickly. I can see me making these forever.
  25. Re: Is anybody here doing Bonnie's Leader/Ender tumbler challenge?

Yes! I'm using 2.5" tumblers and only my scraps. i could probably make 5 quilts from those scraps and still have leftovers. They are such fun to make.
