    Re: Batting Question

Keep your eye out for Hobbs wool batting on sale. Connecting Threads puts all their batting on sale every once in a while (not sure of their sale rotation) that's when I stock up.
  2. Re: Has anyone tried the muslin from joann's?

Legacy premium is the better muslin at Joann. I've used it frequently, has a nice hand and washes up very nicely.

Re: Has anyone made the Northern Lights?

I have the pattern but haven't made it yet. I recently made two of the Splash pattern by Jaybird, and the 2nd one I made smaller cuts without any problems. Her patterns are easy to adjust to...
  4. Re: Do you prefer Bella solids or Kona cotton solids?

I use Bella and purchase it from thousandsofbolts.com. 4.99/yd all the time. Every color you can think of. I'm not opposed to using Kona, just have become hooked on Bella. Buy what you like, I...

Re: are all frixion pens the same?

Choose carefully when purchasing them, I purchased some that were like highliters. They are frixion and and iron off like the regular pens, but you just don't get the fine line. It's been a couple...
  6. Re: Fossil Fern Fat Quarer Bundle from craftsy 90 pcs

Thanks for all the input! For the price, I'll never find the variety in color that I want in smaller quantities, so I think I'll pull the trigger and go for it. Two of the patterns I'll be making...
  7. Fossil Fern Fat Quarer Bundle from craftsy 90 pcs

I have a few projects that this would be perfect. It's a large expenditure, but the range of colors is exactly what I need.

So, for those that have purchased this bundle, is it everything you...

    Re: Free motion gloves?

I use Machingers. Think I paid about $7 for them. Worth every penny. They fit snugly so they don't slip, yet they aren't hot. Highly recommend them.

Re: Craftsy Mystery Fat Quarter box

I've been wanting to order one. I liked a couple of the options, but read the small descriptions. some of the descriptions say 10 different fabrics, meaning 4 fq's of the same thing. That was a...

batting for black and white quilt

My GS is 6 and crazy about all things Panda. He asked me to make him a black & white quilt. He picked out black dimple dot minky for the back. The top is black and white solids. I'm not sure what...

    Re: Wrinkely quilt tops

Whatever you do, I wouldn't pull too tight, will distort your blocks. I'm not clear, you say "before being washed a final time." Does this mean you've already washed it once? I think it's very...

Re: Best Press of Magic Sizing

I used to use Best Press, but find Magic Sizing does an equal job at a fraction of the price. It's .96/can at my walmart. I also keep sta-Flo on hand for when I run out or need a bit stiffer fabric...

    Re: batting or no batting?

I've used diaper cloth on a couple of smaller baby quilts. May not be so user friendly, its narrow (I think 36" wide) requiring seams, but give some weight, not bulk and breathable.

  19. Re: How Do I Stop Bunching When Quilting a "Turned Quilt"?

My daughter glue bastes her binding, keeping it snuggly in place. Although I'm sure she's never done the binding you speak of, nor have I. Atleast it's a thought. Let us know what you do, and of...

    Re: Bandana Herringbone

It's just HST's arranged to this patten. I saw a pic of a quilt that Trisha posted ( I think that's who posted it, my apologies if if that's wrong) and just used her layout. Quick and easy! And...

    Bandana Herringbone

This is my latest baby quilt, backed with flannel and I used Hobbs 80/20 for the batting. I LOVE the way it's puffy and crinkly. Very snuggly. Thanks for looking!102181102179
