Re: Pinwheel centers... How to get them flat?

I've recently been reminded how to use a tailors clapper to flatten my seams and since I couldn't find my old one from years ago, I found a couple of shorter pieces of 2 x 4's that act the same.

    Re: Quick FMQ question

If your injury allows it, try putting something under your heel to level out the angle of your foot. This would make it more difficult to push down with your toes. Your foot would be more level. I...

Re: More FMQ ain't for chickens - Please help

Have to agree with the other two ladies. I have two different bobbin systems on two different machines, and they are completely different in what movement they allow. The drop in bobbin seems to be...

    Cold weather Dog owners?

My mini schnauzer, Moose, is now 1 year old and he is different from the Rotties and shepherd I've had, so I'm at a bit puzzled by his behavior lately.

Does your dog's needs change when the...

I bought the Rowenta with the separate tank for water. I really love this iron. It gets HOT and It lasts a long while before I need to add water. It doesn't turn off every time I turn around. Since...

    Re: Sewing on borders question.

The pieced top is more likely to stretch, so it needs the help of the feed dog to pull it along.

Re: Martelli - 50% off almost everything sale

I haven't bought the zip clips, but I do have the binding system. Love to hear your impression. I have to admit that I haven't played with it enough to say one way or the other.

Re: Martelli - 50% off almost everything sale

Mine came rolled up in a box. The mat is very heavy and awkward to boot. No slipping or sliding with this mat.
I hated paying shipping, but I love my mat.

Re: Cutting tools: what do you recommend?

A large square ruler, at least 12". I like my 15"

    6' x 24" ruler and a 6" x 8". i like them both, and find I'm using
the shorter of two more because it's shorter, but I need the longer one...

Re: LQS quilt fabric vs Joann/hobby lobby fabric

Quilting can be as cheap OR as expensive as you want to make it. Anytime I buy a cheaper fabric, I wash it and feel it. to see if it holds up and if it does, I'm good to go....no matter where it came...

    Re: Check my math please

    16.5"

    3 blocks at 6" = 18"

    sewn together with 2 seams / each seam eats up 1/2". So 2" x 1/2" = 1"

    Now we are at 17".
Cut down the middle and add one more seam, eating up 1/2"
    17"...
