    Re: Spray Basting and Wrinkles

    On small quilts I find pressing after spray basting helps remove wrinkles. Not sure if that is do-able with a large quilt, though.

    Re: College quilt

    I did something like this for my DDs at college. Only I used my emb. machine to emb. things they were interested in, simple patchwork. That was nearly 20 years ago and they still use them
  4. Re: What size needle do you use when binding a quilt?

    I hand sew it with what ever needles I happen to find in my sewing box. Usually have DH thread several ahead of time so I can switch them out as I go.

    Re: coffee

    Black coffee should come out better than coffee with cream in it. The fats in the cream will set the stain more( at least that's what a dry cleaner friend told me}

    Sure, why not? Maybe you can quilt it with lightning, wizard hats, etc. I would keep it simple

    Re: Pinwheels going in opposite directions!!!

    Lay the blocks out the way they are. Is your eye drawn to the wrong-way ones? does it bother you? If it does, then yes, redo them. You won't be happy if you don't . I speak from experience-made GD a...

    Re: Making Apple Jelly

    I have used muslin in a pinch. At one time I had an actual jelly bag, fabric weave was a little bit looser than muslin but not much

    Re: Electric Pressure Cooker?

    I have 16 qt Mirro(stove-top) for canning. I don't believe the instant pot types are recommended for canning. The stove-top ones are a bit pricey but they last a lifetime-I've had mine over 40 years,...

    Re: Dry French Onion Soup Mix

    I've made that for years but I started substituting beef soup base for the bouillon. Less salt and richer flavor IMO

    I have every year for years now. Check what you premium book says, but unless it is specific about binding it shouldn't matter. I have done both, although I usually sew it down by hand on the back-my...

    Re: Width of binding on self binding blanket

    I use 1/4" seams. With 10" difference you should have a 2 1/4 " border. Divide you 10" difference in quarters, 5" on each side which will end up being half on front, half on back.(Minus the S.A.)
