    Re: USPS question

If you haven't done so, set up an account on usps.com. You can calculate postage, print prepaid labels and even request a pickup from your carrier. Also, the price is a little better on most items.

Re: Frolic! A Quiltville Winter Mystery! (Intro)

Although I won't be joining in the sewing at this point, I will be looking forward to each post and seeing everyone's progress.

A suggestion for those that aren't sure - make a few of each step -...

Re: Woo Hoo! Free Shipping daily deal today!

I have had a few things in my cart waiting for one, but yesterday with the 20% off was better than the free shipping. Plus I threw in the orange and black batik charm squares that were on DD.

Re: Frolic! A Quiltville Winter Mystery! (Intro)

I am not going to try to participate this year - although I love the colors. I will print out the instructions and get the color swatches and keep together for "some day". I still have at least three...

Re: Is this correct? Serenity yardage! Pricing?!

I'm in the same camp. Worst search engine ever! I have literally come up with 6000 results and not one of them what I am looking for even though I know it is there and end up finding it the hard...

Re: If you haven't seen it, here it is

Our first visit there was without one of our quilting friends who had to work that day. I sent here a text that read"HELP - we have fallen into a deep hole filled with thousands and thousands of...

Re: If you haven't seen it, here it is

I love her patterns and she posts new ones frequently. I am fortunate enough to be about 25 miles from their retail store. Her twin sister runs the store and they have really great prices on a wide...

    Re: Recreating design patterns?

Actually, I think that is my favorite part of quilting - the design and planning. I have never followed a pattern - usually get inspiration from quilts I see, and then make it my own. I love old...

Re: Looking at a new machine

I don't know anything about these machines, I am a vintage machine girl myself. I do own one computerized machine - a Husqvarna that I have never sewn a single stitch on!

    What I have read, though,...

    Re: Wool Pressing Mat Brand

That's what happened. I don't know whether we made the mistake or they did, but too late, now. Good to know that the other one works, though.

That is where she ordered from too. I wondered if they sent the wrong one. I remember we looked at a tan one, but when it came it was a lighter color. Hhhmmm....

    Re: Wool Pressing Mat Brand

I passed that tip on to my cousin, who ordered one. Boy was she unhappy when it melted to her iron..... it claimed to be 100% wool.

I bought two from QIAD when they were on sale and am very happy...

    Welcome from Florida!

I love vintage machines also :-) I have a treadle, but have not even tried to learn on it. I plan to figure it out when I retire next year.
  19. Re: Anyone use a Sizzix or other fabric die cutting machine?

I "share" an accuquilt Studio with a friend - she bought the machine and I have purchased some dies - including a custom one for cutting multiple sizes of strips (based on Bonnie Hunter's scrap users...

    Re: Tiny Squares

I take the "triangles" that have been cut away from COC circles, pair them up, then stitch at a 45 degree angle across. They can then be trimmed down into a HST unit. You have a different angle, but...

If the pieces were so small, maybe you didn't need to pick them out? Tiny pieces of paper will disintegrate in the wash. The problem I see with using fabric as a foundation is that you can get...
