Re: Quick and easy layer cake pattern

Here's another one I found. Very simple but nice if you have the right fabric. I think a boy would like something that's not too fussy looking.

All My X's. Theres a quilt snip and a regular tutorial on it. How old is the boy?
  4. Anybody have weird reactions to shingles vax?

I got both my shingles shots a few months apart and my only side effect was soreness at the site for 2-3 days. Took aspirin, was fine. Well yesterday my dh got shot #1 and about 8 hrs later his ankle...

    Re: One Block Wonder

These are pretty but I honesrly don't think I would have the patience for it. Plus it makes a very busy looking quilt and idk how you would quilt that out, most of your stitches would not even show...
  6. Re: Using vinyl with baby bibs and fabric grocery bags?

Hmmm after reading Laura's post I remembered that about 5-6 years ago I made a rag quilt out of flannel with batting about 25-30 inches square specifically for putting under my Xmas tree to catch any...

    Re: Onward-Restart after Mom's passing

Good for you moving forward just a little. While it will feel good to complete some quilts your Mom started, don't be too hard on yourself if you find you can't sleep under them right away. It can be...
  9. Re: Using vinyl with baby bibs and fabric grocery bags?

Idk about vinyl with bibs. Is it machine washable? Bibs get washed a lot, with vinyl they probably couldn't go in the dryer and it would be a hassle separating them out from the other laundry to air...

    Re: PLEASE PRAY...

Thankfully no one was killed but my goodness what a tragedy for your family. I watched the news clip. Looks like they have a fund set up for injured firefighters but nothing for the family? Please...

    Re: Missouri Star Cotton Thread

Thanks 201treadler for the additional info! Gosh sewing can get pretty complicated sometimes. Luckily I don't have a serger or emb machine or I would be in way over my head on some of this stuff and...

Re: Quilts By Me search is frustrating

Even though my screen shows you should be able to search by style with a drop down list, "style" is grayed out so I can't look things up like that. You could go to upper right of the page, click on...

Re: What am I doing wrong!

I do mine the same way. I find binding goes on much smoother if I do not pin it, just hold the binding against the raw edge and line up the edges sew about 6 inches, line up another 6 inches, repeat....

    Re: Folding Quilts for Shipping

This was very interesting. I liked how they actually hung up each quilt on a rod to show how different folding methods create creases on the front or back. There is definitely a right and wrong way...

Lovely new tops and I am sure you will finish them off beautifully. As always! Sorry to hear you are so conflicted about moving. It is such a big decision. My dh has been grumbling over the last...

  24. Re: Diamond Pavers using Looking Glass fabric line

Wow this turned out great. That layout looks a little tricky in that each block has a tilt to it. I am sure I would have had to keep the seam ripper close by. Nice job!

    Re: Backing selvedge question

Cut into your fabric with a scissors about 2 inches long and about 1.5 inches away from the edge of the selvedge. Get a good grip on those 2 inch pieces, one in each hand, and just rip it hard all...
