Re: Looking for an 8900 buddy.

If I were you, I'd consider doing some posts. I have an 8900, I've had it for a year. I've lived through quite a few frustrations with it. I always learn something new when someone asks a...

    Re: Janome 8900 question...

Do a search, I think we had a thread with a couple of pages on this. I was struggling as well. Changed to Janome Purple tipped needles and switched the bobbin case out from red arrow to blue arrow....

I use it, I get mine from Joann's. Easier than ordering online when I can see the colors in person.

    Re: janome 6600 vs serger

I'm glad this was asked--I have a 6600 and and 8900. I've been using the overcasting stitch on both, and I use it more and more, pondering whether or not its worthwhile to spend $200-$500 on a...

    Re: Janome 8900 help please

Actually, I have now had the machine about 9 mos. I indeed switched out the bobbin case to the blue arrow case and started using purple needles which really helped a ton.

    Re: Janome vs baby lock

You will be able to monogram in a few different fonts on any of those Janomes. I think the most significant difference between the 7700 and the 8200/8900 is the 9 mm size for some of the stitches...

    Re: Janome 8200

I have the 8900 and I think its a very good, solid machine. I have had a few issues with it but I get some very good support from the dealer, so I have no complaints.

    Re: Janome or BL

I have a Janome 8900 and a used 6600. Love them both, but the other posters are correct--loving your dealer is equally if not more important.

Re: Went shopping at my LQS today

I have a hard time buying online. I want to really feel the fabric against my skin. I also like to see it in person, in its own size rather than on my screen. Helps me envision my quilt better.
