Re: Found Jenny, how bout you?

I've looked at every page I could think of with both my ipad and my laptop - still can't find her. I even looked at the little pictures on some of the precuts. I'm starting to think it only pops up...

Re: At first I hated it...

    It's smallish - about 50" square
The 16 I used has a frame. It's not mine - a friend is teaching me on hers!!

Re: Renting time on a long arm

That's what I do... My shop had a $50 certification class that was for fmq. After that one, you're able to rent the machine - which comes with an instructor every time - for $55 half day or $70 full...

Re: At first I hated it...

Thank you, "Charity!" So the deal was that I got a pattern and two strips of fabric each month for $1. As long as I came back the next month (any time during the month), I got the next set for $1. If...

    Re: Scrappy String Quilt

I really like this! It's the kind of controlled scrappy I can get my head around. Nice job.

    At first I hated it...

:icon_hi:But quilting and scrappy binding and some seriously adorable owls changed my mind!! I am smitten...

    Re: Darth Vader Quilt

I made one with 2.5" squares. It used to be free in craftsy, but she's charging $8 now. It's about full size. I think as long as you enlarge everything by the same percentage, you should be ok. From...

    Re: In the NCW club!

I wouldn't say hard...the challenges are really just in manipulating the thicker areas through the machine. The clasp and zipper are super easy. There's a lot of top-stitching and I'm still working...

    Re: I won't quilt until I've . . .

I'm a compulsive list-maker, too. I usually make my to-do list for the week on Sunday. I include days if there is a deadline, but otherwise, I don't really stress about the list. Most of it gets...

    Re: Ugly quilt update

I was expecting a lot worse, too. It isn't my favorite group of fabrics, but I think you did a really nice job with them. For someone who needs the comfort of a handmade quilt given to them in an act...

    In the NCW club!

I took a class today and made my first one!! There are definitely some things I would like to do better next time, but I'll take it for a first try. Not sure I'll ever be an "addict", but it was fun!
