    Re: cutting hand quilted quilts

I've done it... the quilt was worn in Bad shape, she had cut them first into odd shapes. I squared them up and alliqued them to background fabric... made nine patch blocks in coordinating fabrics......

Re: Poly Pellets w/ heating pad

I've always heard you shouldn't use weight on a heat pad, you can burn yourself.
  4. Re: Anyone else get the email from MSQ today?

I missed it... I didn't get on until 5:30. Bummer.

    Re: My Birthday went by...

It's made by Rowena... it has a tank that pumps stem through a hose to the iron. Google Jordan Fabrics to see Donna Jordan use it when she makes quilts.

  8. Re: Donna's FREE pattern - Five Star Quilt!

I like that pattern in the bright colors much more than the muted colors she chose. But, I do like the quilt.

    Re: Periwinkle on point tutorial

The quickest way to find out is to make a block. I always make a sample lock before committing to a whole quilt.

    Re: Rotating Cutting Mats?

Yes that too.. it doesn't want to stay still when I cut. Moves too freely me thinks.

    Re: Rotating Cutting Mats?

I have the Martelli, I like how freely it spins, but the surface is harder than other mats and I don't like that, I like that I can keep it close for cutting and pressing as I go.

    I had a 12inch...

I've made 3 of them... two in fall colors with black background and one in brights with white back ground. I enjoy making them, they are easy, they go quickly.

Re: Layer cake vs. Jelly Roll

I like Layer cakes... but I have a mean stick of Jelly Rolls and one day I need to just make some quilts with them.
  19. Re: Jenny's Favorite Things -- Christmas Edition

It's meant to be as an advent calendar, so the whole premise is to NOT know what is in the 25 lil packages until the 25 days of Christmas.
  20. Re: Make a "Basket Of Blooms" Quilt with Jenny!

I like it I'd do a lap quilt of it. Every block is snow balled 20 times. :icon_eek::icon_eek::icon_eek:For those who don't like the basket fabric. What would you use... cause it looks like a...

    Re: quilt kits

I haven't ever bought one. I won one... I split it up and used it in different quilts. I make kits for myself... and do work on those. They are great to take on retreats.

    Re: 5-Point Star

If you have a picture or drawing of what you want, actually I would draw my own... you can take it to Staples and they will blow it up and print it as big as you want... Thus, giving you a pattern...
  23. Re: What do you take to Quilt Retreats/Classes? How do you pack it all in?

I make a list of projects I want to work on while I am there... I make up kits with everything I need to make them. BIG zip lock bags so I can just grab a project and make something.

    Then I...

    Re: Talk about organization! WOW!

They are geared more towards the needs of a Scrap Booker. I couldn't use that for sewing quilts. I have to have a Cutting area, a ironing area, and a sewing area with Design wall.

    But, if you...
