Essential Workers, The Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy...

I'm making a motion that there's at least one other group of essential workers... Sewists... I know we've all been working hard during this difficult time.

Secret Santa's are essential workers, too, in my humble opinion.

How is everything in your neck of the woods? How are our Santa's doing?

My actual work on the SS gifts have taken a backseat to masks but I have been researching and matching ideas to my Secret Santa's "Getting to Know Me" info so a number of gifts are ready to get started on.

I have gotten behind, as usual. I have been making masks, non stop for the past 3 weeks. I am sure I will get caught up eventually....I always do, lol.

Thank you for bringing this up! While I feel that we would rather be working on more creative projects, we certainly are putting our sewing skills to something more important right now. Applause to all of you who are participating in this crazy time of overwhelming need. This too shall pass. Keep up the great work.

        Secret Santa 2020

Membership is now opened for Secret Santa 2020

We had a lot of fun with the Secret Santa 2020 group last year. A lot of happy people received beautiful handmade gifts from their Secret Santa's. Each person made and received 12 gifts at Christmas that were made throughout the year, one a month based on a given theme. We learned new things, challenged our skills in a non-stressful way and got "down and dirty" creative. Plus at the end of the year we get 12 great gifts for Christmas!

This group is a commitment as you are signing on to create 12 gifts during the year. They can be smaller projects so any challenge is not overly difficult. Choose whatever difficulty you are comfortable with. You may also, twice a year, swap out the named theme for one of your own choosing. You may also purchase rather than hand make 3 items during the year.
