    February's Theme/ Technique is....

    February's Theme/ Technique is Curves.

My brain is on over drive. I'd done a Cornered Drunkard's path for a friend and he loved it. I've made a few bags with curves. There are some cute zipper pouches with curves. Then there's a whole world of curved piecing! I was looking at the apple core... that's a scary one for me, it definitely would be a challenge. One of our wedding gifts was a Cathedral Window pillow, it was beautiful in Howard's favorite color.. red peeking through the white background. It was so pretty and handmade for us by one of his great-aunts.

Where will your imagination and creativity take you this month? The main thing is to have fun creating something for someone special.

    Happy February everyone!

Cathedral windows are not as difficult as they look. I had received one as a pillow from my Secret Santa one year and I fell in love with it. So I finally tried a few for myself. I thought it was fun. Good way to use up something like 5x5 scraps too :-) There are a few good tutorials on the net too. If anyone is interested I'll try to find the tutorial link I found helpful

Women are Angels. When someone break's our wings we will continue to fly-usually on a broomstick. We're flexible like that.

I've been tg8nking about cathedral window or drunkards path, both scare me, lol. I joke about only being able to see quilts because it's just straight lines; clothes have curves, lol.

      Secret Santa 2020

Membership is now opened for Secret Santa 2020

We had a lot of fun with the Secret Santa 2020 group last year. A lot of happy people received beautiful handmade gifts from their Secret Santa's. Each person made and received 12 gifts at Christmas that were made throughout the year, one a month based on a given theme. We learned new things, challenged our skills in a non-stressful way and got "down and dirty" creative. Plus at the end of the year we get 12 great gifts for Christmas!

This group is a commitment as you are signing on to create 12 gifts during the year. They can be smaller projects so any challenge is not overly difficult. Choose whatever difficulty you are comfortable with. You may also, twice a year, swap out the named theme for one of your own choosing. You may also purchase rather than hand make 3 items during the year.
