    Sneak peek?

Can we do sneak peeks of our projects? I’m thinking it might be a good way to secretly start gathering a little info about my Secret Santee (once I get assigned one) and also reassure me that I’m on the right track with my projects. I have an idea for my January project and I can’t wait to get started!

I'll be reminding everyone to update their about me info late February since the Secret Santa names will be matched up during mid/late March. Information for people to check up on their Secret Santa recipient is usually in the Forum's profile section under their name in User Notes or About Me. We also usually do a separate questionaire in our Group section threads under probably something like "Likes/Dislikes" where members also share information. Again that won't probably be until about March and sometimes people update during the year. :-)

I don't think I've ever seen anyone do Sneak Peeks with pics during the year. We like everything to be a surprise and we also have everyone (or as near as possible) upload pics of the gifts they've received right after Christmas. You can see what people received if you'd like under last years Secret Santa 2018 in that Gallery. But there is nothing to say that you can't suggest as an idea something you are making for this year but perhaps don't say "Hey look what I'm making my girl!" :-)

Women are Angels. When someone break's our wings we will continue to fly-usually on a broomstick. We're flexible like that.

last year one person posted a picture of a small section (4" x 5") of a project that was being sent. I know because I saw it and then was the recipient of the item in question. again it was just a very small section of the item.

I get tired of not seeing any color on the page when I come to check out what's going on.
I did a super close up of the edge of Zeneta's iron caddy with a button. You could see the color, but not what the finished project was. I meant to ask if it bugged her that she knew what a 3" square of her gift looked like before she opened it.
I have also taken a photo of a pile of fabrics and notions that we're going into a project before I cut into any of it.

Some of the other years we have posted links to tutorials or photos in the individual threads about each month's theme to give ideas.

Was your intention for the sneak peak to get ideas or shake the boxes under the tree really early?

toggpine, I was not bugged by the picture. It was only after I unwrapped it and looked at the images again, that I recognized it.

I think adding a small image like that for any one project per person might be a good idea. It might help keep the creative juices flowing.

My intention is to keep the chatter/excitement going. Since no one knows who their secret Santa is, even if they figure out what something is, they still don’t know who it’s for right? I like the idea of what you describe, just sharing a small snippet ...

            Secret Santa 2019

            About this Group

Membership is now closed for 2019.

We had a lot of fun with the Secret Santa 2018 group last year. A lot of happy people received beautiful handmade gifts from their Secret Santa's. Each person made and received 12 gifts at Christmas that were made throughout the year, one a month based on a given theme. We learned new things, challenged our skills in a non-stressful way and got "down and dirty" creative. Plus at the end of the year we get 12 great gifts for Christmas!

This group is a commitment as you are signing on to create 12 gifts during the year. They can be smaller projects so any challenge is not overly difficult. Choose whatever difficulty you are comfortable with. You may also, twice a year, swap out the named theme for one of your own choosing. You may also purchase rather than hand make 3 items during the year.

If you would like to join please "subscribe", "join". Read the Rules in the discussion section and sign. You will receive a questionaire from the mod
